Operation instruction of elevator links
1、Description
Elevator links are important tools to control the descending and ascending of
the elevators in the operation of well-drill or gas-drill or geological. It is mainly split
into DH single arm elevators and SH double arm elevator links two genres. DH
single elevator links are come into use whole forge structure and SH double elevator
links are the forge welding structure, it is manufactured by high quality alley steel
and carefully surface-harden-treated to withstand the stresses and shocks of heavy
service with strict intense test and NDT.
Except for the normal temperature elevator links, we can manufacture all
classes of low temperature elevator links to meet with customers needs. All the
technical parameter and property of the elevator links completely conform to the
requiements of SY/T5035 and API Spec 8C.

3、Usage and operation
1、Before the elevator links are used, the safety working load shall be confirmed,
it is recommended that the working load is 0.8 of the rating load.
2、When the elevator links are used, they should be checked if the rating loads
are in line with the corresponding rating loads of the hook block and the elevator.
Note：Load beyond the rating load(total of dynamic and static rating load)
on the elevator links shall be prohibited.
3、Please read the operation instruction carefully before using. Make sure if the
packing label, links ID and quality certificate are the same.
4、When the elevator links are used, seperate the two elevator links,hook the
upper eyes on the hook ears, and hook the lower eyes into the elevator ears, and
fix the two safety latch in case the equipments break away from each other.
5、When install the elevator links, the bended ends of the lower eyes shall be
inward.
6、Before the elevator links leave factory, they have been strictly tested.
According to the demand of the standard of SY/T6605, the testing period of the
elevator links is 2 year, and then they shall be entirely Non-Destructive tested,
when crack is found, the use of elevator links should be prohibited. Because of
using, corrosion etc reason. When working length difference of matched links
exceed 3mm,they are prohibited to use.
7、The elevator links should be used vertically in operation.

8、When its rated capacity of one set links is under 150US ton (including 150 US
ton) and its small link which working position’s corrosive depth≥1.2mm, it is
prohibited to use. When its rated capacity of one set links is exceed 150US ton and
its small link which working position’s corrosive depth≥2mm, it is prohibited to use.
9、The materials of elevator links have been tested under -20℃ and the property
of elevator links can satisfy the specified requirements. Should the temperature be
below -20℃, the normal temperature elevator links should be prohibited,you can use
low temperature elevator links. If it has sign of “SR2(-45℃)” on nameplate and
certificate, it would be tested in low temperature, and the temperature of real design
& test temperature is -45℃.
4、Maintenance
1、After the elevator links are used every time, they should be cleaned.
2、On condition that the elevator links are used intermittently, the elevator links
surface should be coated with rust-proof grease and stored in well-ventilated place.
3、Before the elevator links are used, they should be checked if crack and
over-abraded is found in elevator links. Should any crack or over-abraded is found,to
ues the products should be stopped or replace them by new ones.
4、After each operation of well-drill, the elevator links should be discharged to be
cleaned and Non-destructive tested to ensure the safety in operation.
5、Repairing or welding on elevator links is prohibited.
6、The using life of DH elevator links is 8 years (from the date of manufacture).
The using life of SH elevator links is 4 years (from the date of manufacture). When
the elevator links exceed its using life, it could continue to use after certificated by
relative qualified department.
5、Transmission and storage
1、Crash is forbidden when in transportation of the elevator links. It must be
prevent from rain.
2、The products must be stored in the dry and well-ventilated place and prevent
from in the sun or in the rain. It is forbidden to let the products contact acids, alkalis,
salts and some other corroision substance.
6、Others
1、On condition that the product is normally stored and used, we responsible for

exchange for maintenance without any claim due to the manufancture quality which
has interfere with the normal usage for 12 months from the date of commissioning or
18 months from the date of shipment.
2、Every pair of elevator links has Quality Certificate, Load List and Usage
Instruction.
3、Customers can select out products as per the specifications and rating load in
chart 1 and chart 2.
4、We can design and manufacture various non-standard elevator links for our
customers as well as elevator links far special purpose to satisfy our customer’s
requirements.
