This is a scanned copy of the script for My Sister in This House, produced
by Monstrous Regiment Theatre Company in 1987, in association
with Leicester Haymarket Theatre.

Written by Wendy Kesselman, and based on a notorious murder in France


in 1933, this was the play's UK premiere; it was first produced in the USA
in 1981. Further information about the show can be found in its

The script for this production was published in Monstrous Regiment: A


Collective Celebration, edited and compiled by Gillian Hanna (Nick Hern
Books, London 1991). We are grateful to the publisher for permission
to reproduce material from this book. Revised versions of the play
were published by Samuel French in 2002 and 2011.

The script that follows was scanned directly from the 1991 published text,
with no changes. A copy of the original typescript, upon which the
published text was based, is held in the Monstrous Regiment archive at
the V&A’s Theatre and Performance Archives.
