Course Description

This course is designed to assist students in developing expertise and in- depth understanding
in the field of Pediatric Nursing. It will help students to develop advanced skills for nursing
intervention in various pediatric medical and surgical conditions. It will enable the student to
function as pediatric nurse practitioner/specialist. It will further enable the student to function
as educator, manager, and researcher in the field of Paediatric nursing

Objectives

At the end of the unit the students will be able to:

1. explain the Concept, goals, assessment, principles. Nursing management of high risk
newborn
2. explain the assessment, principles. Nursing management of neonatal infections
3. explain the organization and management of nursing services in NICU
