Peter Cameron's prose is a delight to read, memorable and evocative and gently rhythmic, much like
the lapping of waves upon the shore. The dreamy disorientation of arriving in an insular (and
fictionally peninsular) setting contrast sharply with the secrets and flaws that each character harbors.
It will always be a key problem in human society, but it does not always need to end up in such a

and this novel had a wonderful way of drawing me along, as though I were wandering the winding

becoming ordained as a minister in the Church of Scotland (Presbyterian) in 1984. Peter was elected

you know that something's.not.quite.right. That is the wonder of this novel--getting drawn in by the
beautiful prose and crackling dialogue, while all the while knowing that things aren't what they

confusing. The purpose of moving to Andorra was to live his life more deliberately and cleanly, but
suddenly his life here has become very messy. But some of you might say, well if you set your story
in a particular place, well you should at least do some basic background research to avoid glaring
mistakes. If coming by bus, take the number 25 or 205: the nearest stop is Ocean Estate. If a person
has enough courage, then they will be able to turn the story of misery around to one that confronts
fears and sorrows. But it is his current volunteer work with his local parish, Levin Uniting Church,
where his new skills will be most useful. “I have helped build five houses with Habitat for Humanity
over the years, and this course ties it all in with a qualification,” says Peter. “I will have a few more

through time to arrive here. Story-length versions of both novellas were originally published in the
literary journal Subtropics; The End of My Life in New York was included in O. It's also very weird
that he kind of just spends his days hovering around all day doing nothing important, and that there
is no explanation provided on how that is possible for a majority of the book. He wrote a memoir
about the experience, Heretic, which was published in 1994, the same year he resigned from the
