Weekly Site Inspection Report: Baluwatar, Kathmandu

Total of 11 workers were present (5 Skilled and 6 Helper)
The site condition was fairly-good with good weather condition.
Observations on site:
Narayani/ Panchakanya steel were being used for sill & lintel band
Bricks used for brickwork were not even in size, resulting a rough appearance (reference
photo1)
Coarse sand was used for mortar.
Huaxin PPC was used in 1:4 ratio.
Approved on date:
Construction materials being used was approved as per the Contract/ Estimation of Octa
Construction.
To be revised on site:
Brickwork on Ground Floor (Reference Photo2) is not aligned to plumb bob.
Brickwork connecting to slab (reference photo3) is not properly filled with mortar, creating a
disturbed brickwork.
Mortar thickness is not properly maintained (reference photo4)
In Ground floor, brickwork adjacent to staircase (reference photo5) brickwork is initiated
along header despite stretcher.
Bulging of shear wall on Ground floor, first floor and Second floor is not addressed from last
site visits.
Exterior walls are not provided with two bands (reference photo6).
Door frame in Ground floor and first floor is not properly installed, there is a difference of 0.5
inches in top and bottom portion (reference photo7).
In first floor, lintel band in door is not properly horizontal (reference photo8).
Sill bands does not coincide in first floor brick work (reference photo9).
In staircase of First floor, rebar is being exposed due to poor concreting work (reference
photo10).
Not approved:
Brickwork in ground floor bedroom (West face) is not approved as the brickwork is not
properly aligned (reference photo2).
Brickwork in toilet of ground floor is not approved because toothing is not provided on the
joints (reference photo11).
Lintel bands on toilet of ground floor is not up to the quality, as the rebars are being exposed
(reference photo12).
Brickwork along grid D-D in first floor is not approved as the gaps are not even, and
perpends of brickwork does not align (reference photo13).
Brickwork in lift is not approved as it does not have sufficient bands to hold the brickwork in
place. (reference photo14).
