One chilly snowy evening in the deep snow-covered mountains, the
sound of piano music could be heard drifting gently on the breeze. The
low notes travelled past the crow high in the tree, and down the slopes,
where it reached the ears of a little goat.
The little goat trotted off to see where the piano music was coming from.
After wandering through the oak trees and past the frozen lake, he began
to climb the slope. Before long he was nearing a cottage. He could see a
low glow coming from inside. The little goat popped his head up at the
window but could not see anyone inside.
He continued his journey up the slope. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he
heard a sound quite unlike the beautiful piano music. It sounded like
someone clearing their throat. He spun around but couldn’t see anything,
so he continued to follow the open road up the steep slope.
There it was again! He was sure of it this time. It was someone or
something clearing their throat but the little goat could not see where
it was coming from. He thought to himself that maybe it was the foe
of the forest, the old black crow! Little Goat decided not to waste any
more time and headed home. It was moments like this that he wished he
 wasn’t alone.
Soon he could see the low glow of his own home. He shook the snow
from his coat and trotted over the stones to the front door. As he drew
closer to the door, he realised the music was coming from within.
Little Goat swung the door open and saw his friends Toad and Pony
happily watching as Mummy Goat played their favourite tune,
 Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’.

After Mummy Goat finished, they voted her show the best in all the
slopes. Mummy Goat brought them all warm oats and toast from the
stove and they shared jokes until the phone rang and it was time for
Toad and Pony to go home.
