events and its global database. This enables every CLN member with global branding
opportunities and make the whole world knows about them through in-depth and continuous

MEMBERS
CLN ensures that every member must only work with trusted
and reliable forwarders. Every new member application
will undergo a due diligence to screen the company’s
financial stability, market reputation, sales strength
and length in operation. All members are likewise
subjected to standard Code of Ethics and
Guidelines of the network which must b
followed and adhered at all times.
Members who have been reported and
proven to be unethical in line of the
business will be subjected
to probation.
PAYMENT SECURITY
WITHIN THE NETWORK
Although CLN assures that every member is diligently screened, the network still wants to
make sure that all the charges due within the network will be paid on or before the agreed
terms. To guarantee that payments will always be on time, the network has its CLN Safe
Program as safety-net for its members with the following concept:
Pool member’s fund in a yearly basis
Immediate payment security is USD 5,000
Payment security will be increased to USD 10,000 for members that
are with at least 3 years of membership in the network
Payment security will be increased to
USD 20,000 for members that are
with at least 5 years of
membership in the network
CLN is using an advanced payment
monitoring system where payment
issues reported will be immediately
investigated and be acted upon. This
insurance coverage is immediately
applied upon approval of membership.

Through our annual conference, we reduce your costs
from travelling to several countries as CLN conducts an
annual partnership meeting in different countries. In this
meeting, you’ll be able to meet and build contacts
with hundreds of agents in one place. The annual
conferences and meetings must be attended by
CLN members to fortify their relationship with the
members of the network aside from chancing upon
fruitful opportunities.
Meetings are set-up through our face2face
scheduler, CLN’s meeting scheduler system where you
can select who you want to meet based on the country
and specializations.

Program. Under the said
scheme, shipments within
the network are rewarded with
USD 10 / container or USD 0.1/kg
and this can be claimed up to
50% of their membership fees.
The program continuously motivates
and drive new business within the
network since members are encouraged
to prioritize their co-members for new
business opportunities and new cargo
nominations.

NETWORK AGREEMENT
CLN members maintain a professional working relationship among each other by adhering to
the Network Ethics and Guide.
To pay all money due to members in a timely manner (standard: within 30 days, unless otherwise
agreed upon in writing)
To be active in sales endeavors for mutual growth
To attend annual conferences of the alliance to ensure activity of of members within the
organization
To respect other members’ existing customer bases and refrain from back selling
To reflect the true cost of all rates quoted from the CLN Member to CLN Member for common
markup and profit sharing, should the cost change (even during shipment) CLN agent partner/s
must update accordingly. Overcharging is considered unethical within the CLN and CLN reserves
the right to expel members with unethical practices.
To provide bona fide sales leads when possible
To be properly staffed for the highest level of service
To operate in accordance with all stated shipping advice
To promptly respond to all communications (standard: within 24 hours)
To quote rates in full detail in a timely manner
To share freight profits 50/50, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing
To seek the help of CLN administration in resolving disputes.

PAYMENT PROTECTION GUIDE
Most advanced payment monitoring system
The live payment monitoring system allows our CLN Secretariat to capture any late-payment incidences and
inform the network of any irregularities. All members are sent with a monthly PDF of the Network Security Agency
list, which highlights the updated status of every member. By having this system in place, we can able to greatly
reduce the network’s exposure to wrong intended forwarders and keep our striving community of forwarders
towards the success of each and everyone.
The CLN Security Fund is governed by the following guidelines:
1. Prior to transacting with CLN members, please verify from the network agency list that your partners are in good standing.
2. Send pre-alerts (HAWB, MAWB, and Billing) within 14 days of shipment
3. Agent to submit statement of account (AR/AP) within the first 10 days of each month
4. Members must be updated with membership payables
5. Agent must pass the screening process of CLN
6. Agents must file a late payment report within 45 days after the payment due date with 14 days allowance from the due date. Then, claim
report can be filed within 30 days after the due date.
7. Only CLN members are eligible for security claims. Expired member status is not entitled to submit claims to the CLN.
8. The CLN security blanket covers for invoices within a maximum of 45 days before the claim date. CLN does not provide coverage for
shipments with payment terms of more than 30 days.
9. Immediate dispute protection is covered to USD 5,000 per member, and will increase to USD 10,000 once you are 3 years with the network.
Dispute protection is covered to a maximum amount of USD 20,000 for members that are 5 years and above with the network with a self-
participation of 10% claimed amount.
10. The lower coverage of two transacting agents is considered for claiming purposes. Charges that have not been mutually agreed to prior to
any shipment are excluded from the payment security.
11. The CLN payment security will only cover up to 50% of the claim amount, if the claiming agent is part of other freight forwarding networks
and 0% if both parties (claiming agent and other party) involved are both members of same network outside CLN.
12. The CLN Security Coverage is limited to general cargo and specifically not covering dangerous goods, perishable cargo, personal effect
and collect cargo beyond USD 2,000.00. In addition, security coverage is not provided for non-conformance with service levels, shippers/
consignees connected with Internet mail services such as E-Bay, lost or damaged cargo, invoices covered by a CLN member’s Errors
and Omissions Insurance or other insurance coverage, 3rd party damages, currency exchange fluctuations, goodwill payments, illegal
transactions, legal fees or interests.
13. Any single transaction/invoice beyond USD10, 000 is not eligible for claim
14. Security coverage is only granted to members that have attended latest conferences. CLN reserves the right to refuse any claims from
members who have not attended the last conference.
15. Only invoices relating to the offices/cities that are registered will be eligible to participate in this fund i.e. if a
company only registers its Hong Kong office but has several other offices in China, only invoices covering
freight originating from/destined to their Hong Kong office will be considered as eligible.
16. CLN does not cover for disputes caused by service errors

18. For payment issues that have been resolved, the payee will undergo a 60-day probationary period, f
or purpose of payment monitoring. The CLN Management has the right to downgrade payment
status of members with payment issues. This is to ensure that the entire CLN is kept safe.
19. Lost Pre-alerts: It is important to always check if your agent has received your pre-alert,
therefore please ask receiving party to acknowledge receipt of your pre-alert. If you
have not received an acknowledgment email prior to arrival of shipment,
please call your agent to do so. Claims associated with shipments with no
timely acknowledgment of the shipment prior to arrival of shipment
are invalid.
20. Claims do not cover for demurrage, detention, storage charges, or costs
associated to abandoned shipments.
21. Cargo that accumulate Demurrage/detention/destroying charges at
destination are at the full responsibility of the originator agent. In cases of
direct shipments (from origin to destination) the origin agent is liable to
pay within 30 days of the destination agents settlement. In cases of
triangle shipments, the originating agent is fully liable for above charges
within 30days of settlement by destination agent. It is the duty of the
origin/originating agent to ensure that the consignee at destination will pay for all
costs associated to delays that maybe borne by the destination agent, and guarantees
settlement to destination agent being the only party known and associated to the
destination agent.
22. CLN reserves the right to update the above terms at any time.
