School Landslide Incident Report
Last September 8,2023 around 2:15 in the afternoon, an expected natural
disaster in the form of landslide occurred within the premises of Acuña
Elementary School. This incident report aims to provide a comprehensive account
of the event, its impacts, response actions, and future recommendations. By the
decisions of our School Head Mr. Leo P. Fabrigar, we decided to end our class
earlier because of the heavy rain that afternoon which can cause flood in some
lower portion of the access roads and following the emergency procedures.
Suddenly sir Leo heard something low rumbling noise nearby of his office. The
landslide primarily affected at the back portion of the DepEd building, damaging
about 1 meter from the said building specifically Grade VI classroom. Then there’s
another crack near in Grade I classroom which can possibly cause of landslide as
well when heavy rain pours. The landslide originated from the hill side located
behind the school, causing damage to the school site. Fortunately, there were no
reported casualties as result of the landslide. However, we experienced shocked
due to the sudden nature of the incident.
