Mr. Robert Parcon
NSTP-CWTS Instructor
Dear Sir Parcon,
Greetings of peace.
We, the group of NSTP-CWTS students of S.Y. 2023-2024 named, Team Beige is
proposing a project named LONA under the advocacy “Quality Education”.
A pleasant environment is important for us as it affects our mood, well-being, and
overall quality of life. The environment for studying is a huge part on contributing how much
lesson is being learned by students. The term LONA is an abbreviation for Learning on
Nurturing Area. We the Team Beige seeks to improve students' educational experiences
through enhancing their study area. A room in the College of Engineering, room CET 104,
has caught our attention due to its damaged wall causing water leakage and flood in the room
that hinders the learning abilities of students. This problem is an immediate call to action due
to the unpredictable weather cause by our mother nature. The current damaged wall present
in the room CET 104 will be replaced by a much durable material. As for the water leakage,
a new passage way will be provided to avoid future damages on the new wall. For the funds
of this project, a fundraising of selling of food items throughout the campus of Western State
Mindanao University will be implemented by the team.
Along this line, we would like to seek approval for the project implantation as this
would immediately benefit hundreds of students utilizing the room CET 104. Attached to this
letter is the Background information of the project being proposed.
Anticipating your favorable response to this request. Thank you and God bless!
Respectfully yours,
Team Beige

Introduction
A pleasant environment is important for us as it affects our mood, well-being, and
overall quality of life. A pleasant environment can reduce stress, promote relaxation, and
enhance productivity.
The environment for studying is a huge part on contributing how much lesson is being
learned by students. Students prefer places where they can focus much more and feel
comfortable while learning. This could be in their bedrooms, the library, or even just in a
clean and quiet classroom. These different environments help the achieve learning in an
efficient way. That’s why there are called study areas or study spaces because these
environments meet the standards of having a suitable place of learning substantially.
A good study environment for most students requires proper lighting, comfortable
room temperature, minimal noise, accessible internet, a decent desk, clean area, and many
more that gives the students comfort and accessibility of materials and resources. If the
environment where students study and do their schoolwork is clean and quiet then the
students are more likely to learn more and finish their schoolwork better. The learning
environment dramatically affects the learning quality of students.
The term LONA is an abbreviation for Learning on Nurturing Area. We the Team
Beige seeks to improve students' educational experiences through enhancing their study area.
Project Description
Background of the Project
Optimizing Learning Quality through Enhancing Learning Environment," an advocacy
project, seeks to improve students' educational experiences.
A room in the College of Engineering, room CET 104, has caught our attention due to
its damaged wall that cause water leakage and flood in the room. This has become a
significant hindrance to students specifically the Civil Engineering students that mostly
utilize this room.
This problem is an immediate call to action due to the unpredictable weather cause by our
mother nature.

Objective and Goals of the project
The overarching goal of this project is to elevate the physical environment of Room
CET 104, addressing its structural aspect. By fostering collaboration, sustainability, and
community involvement, this project aims to create comfortable learning environment that
promote student well-being and provide an enriched learning experience.
Justification of the Project
Students learning in poor environments – those that are uncomfortable, loud, or full of
distractions – will find it far more difficult to absorb information and stay engaged (Hendrix,
How your surroundings affect The way you study 2019).
Schools' open space and noise, inappropriate temperature, insufficient light,
overcrowded classes, misplaced boards, and inappropriate classroom layout all make up
factors that could be confounding variables distracting students in a class (Gilav,
Investigating the impact of environmental factors on learning and academic achievement of
Elementary Students: Review 2019).
If students are in a noisy and distracting environment, it will be difficult for them to
focus on what they’re being taught. A regular occurrence like this could be detrimental to
students’ academic performance because it would cause them to put in less effort than they
should have been required to throughout the learning process (Team, How does surroundings
affect students learning? 2023).
Several factors can affect learning ability, including seating, light, noise, and even colour.
Students who study in a positive learning environment have been shown to be more
motivated, engaged, and have a higher overall learning ability. On the other hand, students
learning in poor environments – those that are uncomfortable, loud, or full of distractions –
will find it far more difficult to absorb information and stay engaged (Hendrix, How your
surroundings affect The way you study 2019).
Benefits of the Project
The main benefit of this project is that the students who utilized the room CET 104
will not be disturb by the unpredictable rain blessed by our mother nature. Another benefit of
this project is that the students will be more motivated to partake in the lessons being shared
to them.
Coverage of the Project
The coverage of the project covers the College of Engineering Department from
Western Mindanao State University by optimizing the learning quality through amplifying
educational environments. It focuses on addressing room renovation of wall for room CET
104 due to water leakage.
Methodology
Source of Funds
The source of the funds for this project is through selling of food items throughout the
campus of Western State Mindanao University. The following items are to be sold for the
fundraising of this project:
Biscuits
Cupcakes
Juice in DIY pack
Ice Candy
Chocolate Bar
Candys
Curls
Process of Renovation
The current damaged wall present in the room CET 104 will be replaced by a much
durable material. As for the water leakage, a new passage way will be provided to avoid
future damages on the new wall.
Length of Implementation
This project will begin as soon it is approved for implementation. Part of the project’s
implementation is the fundraising. This project will be implemented at a maximum of 5
weeks.
