“Lord, nothing but you”: Faith, Hope, and Love in the Heart of the Family
With everything that is happening in my life right now, endless worry, doubt, and
concerns, I can still feel the love of God and his presence through my family. As I reflect on the
theme "Lord, Nothing but You: Faith, Hope, and Love in the Heart of the Family," I am
reminded of the profound significance these virtues hold in shaping not only individual lives but
also the collective spirit of the family. Faith is the foundation of a family, providing a sense of
purpose and direction that transcends the material world. This week has been tough for me, but
with the guidance of my parents and my sister, I was able to conquer everything, and I am still
striving now. They have taught me to believe in myself and that God is with me through the hard
times. My family illuminates the path ahead, casting light into the dark times of my life.
Whenever I feel tired of something I do or lose motivation to continue, they bring hope and
happiness to my life. They inspire me to strive for a better future for myself and the people
around me. Their presence at home gives me a sense of security and hope that everything I do
will be worth it. Lastly, their love binds us together through shared experiences and memories.
Whenever we eat together, I express myself and share every worry and concern I have. Their
love, care, and support are my source of strength, inspiring me to do good in everything. This
theme made me realize the essence of being part of a loving and nurturing family and their
importance in my life.
“Lord, nothing but you”: Faith, Hope, and Love in the Heart of Students and Young People
As fourth-year students, we don’t have much time to spend with ourselves and our
families. This week was a lot for us because, aside from the tasks given to us, some of us cannot
avoid thinking about the future ahead of us. This 3-day retreat has given us the opportunity to
pause and reflect. I had the opportunity to remember that God is with me throughout my journey
as a fourth-year student. My faith and belief in God are stronger than my worries and concerns,
and I should trust God’s plan for me. My faith in God instills courage in the face of my
uncertainty and challenges and empowers me to persevere through my academic and personal
challenges. God also gives me hope to strive and reach my dreams with optimism and
determination. Amid academic pressures, societal expectations, and personal worries, the hope
that God gives me gives me the confidence to pursue my passions, overcome challenges, and
take whatever path I want. Finally, God’s love motivates me to continue trying and assures me
that I am doing good right now. This theme made me realize that God’s love helps me on my
journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
