A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of lines, shapes, colors, and
texture, and principles of balance, proportion and variety through
drawing.
B. Performance Standards The learner creates a portrait of himself and his family which shows
the elements and principles of art by drawing.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives Identifies colors as primary, secondary, and tertiary, both in natural
(Write the LC code for each) and man- made objects, seen in the surrounding.

Say: It is very important to eat fruits and vegetables because
they are very nutritious and healthy. These help us to improve
our immune system and fight against bacteria, so, we need
these to take good care of our health.
C. Presenting examples/instances of the Say: Look at those two pictures. What can you observe? Which one
new lesson looks more beautiful? What do you think will happen if there are no
colors around us?
What are colors? Why do we need colors? Color is an element of art
which gives beauty on the things around us. It also helps us in knowing
the things or objects seen in our surrounding. We have different
colors from natural objects. Natural objects came from God and they
have natural colors and can’t be changed. On the other hand, we have
different colors on things/objects made from man like the bridge,
house, things you use in school and many more.
Primary colors/Siyahan nga Kolor-- they are the colors that can’t be
created by mixing of other colors, instead, they combine to create
other colors.
