General comments
AC1 – Investigation
Well done, Grace. The investigation work you completed during this assignment has been
fantastic, showing your knowledge and passion for film and media. The written research on your
website has been excellent to read and your understanding and passion has really shone
through. Your investigation work was clear and precise in the pitch process of the assignment,
where you helmed a clear and communicative piece of work that showed clear links to market
and target research. Some pieces of work were more thorough than others, please keep this
consistent throughout.
AC2 – Communication
Well done, Grace. Your communicative work on display on the portfolio has been excellent. You
have clear and thorough annotations throughout the website, as well as displaying good
communication skills during your pitch delivery and written work. Your annotations are excellent,
meaning that you clearly understand what has been asked of you, and with clear reference
towards the work goal.
With written work, always ensure that the same level of communication is displayed throughout,
some pieces of work are very detailed, while others seem to have no annotations or written
explanations. Please ensure a consistent quality and quantity of communication is delivered for
each piece of work!

AC3- Practical Skills
Well done Grace. Your practical work this year has been excellent for this short film assignment.
You have shown a tremendous amount of technical know-how and worked within many job roles
to deliver different products on a professional and successful timeline. For this product, you have
been working as director, which went successfully, although I do believe you missed several key
dates on set, while you did ensure work was set for each day, it would have been even better if
you could attend each and every session.
Your edit was also good, and showed good technical knowhow of the post-production process.
Your screenshots were good and detailed somewhat, but this could have been more thorough
and detailed by showing the entire process.
AC4 – Development
Well done, Grace. Your development work throughout the assessment has been mature and very
critical, showing that you are aware of the developmental stages within the creative sector, and
how others can help develop your product further, meaning you have met the distinction criteria.
Your portfolio has shown a great deal of developmental work, from peer feedback, multiple edits
of your product as well as your own critical analysis. Your annotations are clear and help drive the
development of the process that much more! You have discussed any plan change well, but this
could have been done more when linking it to the process and when talking about the ideas and
creative thinking for it all.
AC5 – Approach
Well done, Grace. Your approach to this assessment has been mature, meaning you have
successfully met the distinction criteria for this section. You have shown great self-direction
throughout the task, usually being the driving force of the creative process, especially during the
short film section of the course. Your attendance was spotty, meaning that it does hurt your
image overall, and this could have lead to lower grades, but I believe you have done enough in
order to achieve a distinction, but you must be wary of this in the future.
You have produced a great piece of work that you should be proud of! Please keep this enthusiasm
and workload up as we move forward in the course!
