Assessment Task!

Create a concept map about recreational activities by filling out the following:

Recreational Activity

Any outdoor activity, including practice or instruction in any such activity, that is done for the

purpose of exercise, relaxation, or pleasure is considered a recreational activity.

Types and Classification

 Passive Recreational- Recreational activities that do not necessitate the use of

prepared facilities such as sports fields or pavilions are known as passive

recreation. Passive recreational activities have a low impact on a site's resources,

so they can provide ecosystem services and are highly compatible with natural

resource protection.

 Active Recreational- Active recreation is any physical activity done during free

time that is not part of a structured, competitive sport. It's a collection of activities

that fall under the broad category of physical activity, which also includes active

living, active transportation, and sport.

Objective
Enjoyment, socialization, and the development of your personality are all goals of recreational

activities. We all need a break from work; we need to get away from the monotony of our daily

lives and refresh ourselves by engaging in recreational activities.

Importance

Physical health, emotional health, and cognitive functioning all benefit from recreational

activities. It also allows students to interact with their peers. Regularly engaging in recreational

or leisure activities improves a person's confidence, memory, emotional and mental stability,

optimism, decision-making abilities, and independence. Recreation is a tool that aids in the

development of a person's personality, physical stature, stress and anxiety reduction, and creative

expansion.

Reflective Analysis:

I learned from the topic of recreational activity that participating in recreational activities,

especially those that take place outside, can significantly improve one's physical health.

Everyone who participates in park activities such as walking, hiking, or jogging has lower body

fat percentages, lower blood pressure, and lower cholesterol levels. Recreational activities can

assist us in managing our stress. Taking time to care for oneself promotes balance and self-

esteem, which can help to alleviate anxiety and depression.

Module 2 (Group Games)

Try These!

1. Describe group games briefly in your own words.

 Group games are experiential education exercises that help people learn more

about themselves, their interpersonal relationships, and how groups work from a

group dynamics or social psychological standpoint.

2. Explain the factors to consider in selecting games for different age groups.

 Our stamina, like our cardiovascular performance, deteriorates as we age. As we

get older, our overall health deteriorates. As a result, we must take into account

the age of the participants, as older people have lower physical performance

capacity than younger people. To ensure a fair competition, we must balance the

team's number of younger and older members. It is considered a match game

between the groups when both teams have an equal number of young and old

members.

Let’s Apply

Create a group game by following the template below. Invite your family members, friends or

classmates and conduct the game your created. Make a documentation through videos.

Reflective Analysis:
I realized that group games increase our confidence and empathy as a result of the topic of group

games. We all enjoy playing games. Participating in group activities/games provides us with the

opportunity to learn how to work as part of a team. Teamwork encourages problem solving in

order to achieve a common goal. A group of students participating in an obstacle course relay

race, for example, will automatically begin assessing the course and assisting one another in

completing the course in the quickest time possible. The development of social skills is another

advantage of group activities/games. Through the constant interrelationship of the individual and

the group, individuals will feel less stressed, feel better about themselves, increase their energy

level, develop coordination, alertness, cooperation, and loyalty, acquire a broad knowledge of

games with the goal of using them for leisure time activities, and finally develop desirable social

attitudes.

Module 3 (Parlor Games)

Try These!

1. Describe parlor games briefly in your own words.

 A group game played indoors is known as a parlor or parlor game. During the

Victorian era in the United Kingdom and the United States, these games were

extremely popular among the upper and middle classes.

2. Explain why Filipinos are fond of conducting parlor games during celebrations and

special occasions.

Because we develop organic power, coordination, cooperation, honor, loyalty, alertness, courage

and perseverance, develop desirable social attitude, and develop our skills and intelligence in this

game, I realized that parlor games are important for me and for everyone.

Module 4 (Tag Games)

Try These!

1. Define Tag games in your own words.

 Tag games are games in which players try to outrun or outsmart their opponents

in an attempt to catch them. Individually or as a group, they can be played.

Running, changing directions quickly, agility, and quick thinking are all

locomotory movements that are required.

2. Give at least 3 examples of tag games and explain how it is played.

 Animal Cage

Alertness, Running

A chaser pursues a runner. The other players stand in two concentric circles, the

inner circle facing outward and the outer circle facing inward, thus forming pairs

standing face to face. Each circle man joins hands with his partners, or it may be

prescribed that he places his hands on his partner’s shoulders. The runner may at

will step or jump between two partners, facing one or the other. The man to whom

his back is turned is the next runner.

 Affinity Tag

Alertness, Running

As its name indicates, this is a game in which partners must find their affinity or

“sole-mate”, to exempt them from being tagged. By a counting out method select

“It” and let the other players select partners and scatter. “It” tries to tag any player

who is not sitting with the sole of both feet

touching those of his partner.

 Prisoner’s Base

Alertness, Speed in Running

The ground is divided into two equal parts, with a small base or prison marked off

at the farther corner of each division. From 10 to 20 players guard each side. They

venture into the enemy’s ground and if caught, are put into the prison, where they

must remain until tagged by one of their own side who is free. Both prisoner and

rescuer may be tagged and brought back to prison before reaching their own
ground. The game is won when one side makes more prisoners under a time limit,

or when a free man enters the prisoner’s prison, but this last one may be done

only when there are no prisoners there.

I realized that tag games is a great game because it helps us develop a variety of physical skills

such as movement, agility, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness as a result of the topic

about tag games. It also strengthens our bodies and minds, making us more resistant to diseases.

Games are critical in the development of a healthy brain.

Module 5 (Relay & Races Games)

Try These!
1. Differentiates relays from races in your own words.

 A relay race is a race in which each team member completes a portion of the race.

Relay races are commonly referred to as "relays." Both track and swimming

events feature relay races. A leg is the part of a relay race that is completed by a

different team member.

2. Explain skills can be developed through relays and races.

 A relay race is all about working together as a team! As a result, the relay race

team's mix of skills and attitudes (speed, stamina, performing under pressure, etc.)

is critical. Above all, the desire to triumph in the face of adversity is critical.
