Radialis and snuff box
Examination of shoulder joint

Abduction 180 degree (Supraspinatus, middle deltoid, serratus anterior (via upward rotation of the scapula)
Adduction 45 degree (Pectoralis major, coracobrachialis, latissimus dorsi, teres major, subscapularis)
(anterior deltoid, pectoralis major (clavicular head), coracobrachialis, bicepsbrachii
Flexion 180 degree
(shorthead)
Extension 45 degree (Latissimus dorsi, teres major, posterior deltoid, triceps brachii (long head)
Internal rotation 95 degree (Subscapularis, anterior deltoid, pectoralis major, teres major, latissimus dorsi
External rotation 45 degree (Infraspinatus, teres minor, posterior deltoid)
Examination of elbow joint
Flexion 135 degree (Biceps brachii, brachialis. brachioradialis)
Extension 0-5 degree (Triceps brachii, anconeus)
(Occurs at radioulnar joints)
Supination 90 degree (Biceps brachii, supinator) - (occurs at radioulnar joints)
Pronation 90 degree (Pronator teres, pronator quadratus) - (occurs at radioulnar joints)
Examination of Wrist

Pronation 90 degree (Pronator teres, pronator quadratus) - (occurs at radioulnar joints)
Start with active ROM of all joints (Ask patient), then check passive ROM (Move joints in each direction and ask patient to keep
limbs relaxed). Finally check the power of muscles involved in each ROM.

Palpate Radial pulse between tendon of FCR and radial styloid. Palpate the ulnar pulse over ulnar side of the volar wrist.

Palpate brachial pulse - Medial to tendon of biceps in the cubital fossa.
