Lesson Plans for Alphabet Workshop

MYP 5 Criterion B “Planning for Performance”

Letter: B Main Theme: Bouncing with Buddies

Date: Available Time: 40 minutes

Game Skills: Bunny Hop Relay Race, bowling

Soft Skills: Strength

I have included:
❏ A letter specific warm-up
❏ A plan for those students who may not be able to participate physically
❏ Instructions on how each activity is organized
❏ All the materials needed to complete the alphabet workshop
❏ An opportunity to reflect on the lesson/give feedback
❏ Roles played by all members of the group
❏ Questions to ask the Kinders at the end of the lesson

WARM UP (5 minutes)

- Start with a Bunny Hop warm-up where kids hop around like bunnies all around the area to
energize and prepare for the activities.

ACTIVITY 1 ( 15 minutes) Skill # 1 : Bunny Hop Relay Race Theme # 1:Teamwork

- Organize a Bunny Hop relay race where pairs of students hop together to pass a baton,
emphasizing teamwork and coordination.

ACTIVITY 2 ( 10 minutes) Skill # 2 bowling Theme # 2 Strength

- Throwing balls on the ground, to hit a certain spot. For example, students will be standing on
a line, and there will be another line further away from them. They must – as the students – to
throw the ball on the ground the furthest.

ACTIVITY 3 ( 10 minutes) Skill: balloon-dodgeball volleyball Theme: Cooperation

- Introduce balloon-dodgeball volleyball, where students work together to keep the balloon in
the air, promoting cooperation and motor skills.

The students must keep the ball in the air, and pass it to their partner suitably, twenty times,
and they must keep counting with it. Once they are done with the twenty, they can start
eliminating others by throwing the ball at them.

If you are eliminated, you must sit down in a criss cross position, and stay there as a rock, to
try and distract others OR eliminate them.

Cool-Down/Conclusion/Questions ( 5 minutes)

- Lead a cool-down session with calming stretches and reflection questions like "What was the
most fun part of today's workshop?" or "How did you work together with your buddy?"
