Itinerary for Rajasthan Bike Tour

Day 01: New Delhi to Mandawa | 250Km | 8 Hrs

Duration – Approx. 7 Hours
Highlights – Mandawa Fort, Shekhawati Havelis
We will start this expedition from the national capital and ride towards our first destination – Mandawa.
Located in the popular Shekhawati region, the small town is famous for its charming architecture and mural
paintings. Even though we will be riding on smooth highways throughout the entire journey, we will try to
leave early so that we are left with ample amount of time to explore the town – also known as an open art
gallery. After arriving at the pre-arranged accommodation, you may either choose to relax in the hotel or go
out and explore the local art-scene and the flea-markets. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Mandawa to Jodhpur | 330Km | 9-10 Hrs

Duration – Approx. 7 Hours
Highlights – Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace
After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will resume our journey and start riding towards the colourful
(mostly blue) city of Jodhpur. Even though the distance to be covered is in excess of three hundred km, it
should not take us more than seven hours as we would be riding on arrow-straight highway roads. During
the ride, you will also see the landscape start to change from green to desert-y. Shortly after arrival, get

ready to explore the bustling alleyways of the blue city on foot. Pay a visit to the magnificent Mehrangarh
Fort and the nearby located Jaswant Thada. The city is also known for its street food so make sure you eat
your way around the clock tower area. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer | 280Km | 8 Hrs

Duration – Approx. 6 Hours
Highlights – Pokhran, Jaisalmer Fort
Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for what is going to be a very exciting day of riding as we make
our way from the blue city to the golden city. This, usually six hour, ride can sometimes take a little more
time as riders tend to take a few extra breaks to capture the beautiful landscape on offer. Two-thirds into
our journey, we will ride through the well known village of Pokhran. On arrival, get some rest at the hotel
and later go out to explore the desert-town of Rajasthan. The heritage sites, the historical temples, the
glimmering bazaars – Jaisalmer is as authentic Rajasthan gets. Later, find yourself a quiet spot and watch
the city’s sandstone-structures turn golden as the sun sets far in the west.

Day 04: Jaisalmer – Longewala - Jaisalmer | 240Km | 8 Hrs

Duration – Approx. 5 Hours
Highlights – Riding through the desert, Indo-Pak border town
Have a relaxed breakfast at the hotel and get ready for an adventurous day of riding through the vast Thar
Desert. During the entire ride, you will be able to see a lot of camel-carts manoeuvring the sand dunes on
both sides of the road. There will be desert-sand as far as you can see so make sure you get a little dirty in
the sand as get that picture clicked with your bike against the desert-backdrop. After riding for a couple of
hours, arrive in the border town of Longewala – the battle ground of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Visit the
Longewala War Museum and check out the fighter jets, weapons, tanks used in the war. After exploring the
area’s surroundings, we will ride back to Jaisalmer in the evening. Stay overnight at the hotel/campsite.

Day 05: Jaisalmer – Udaipur | 490Km | 9 Hrs

Duration – Approx. 9 Hours
Highlights – Riding through Aravalli Hills, Lakes of Udaipur
Today, we will start riding as early as possible as the distance to be covered is just shy of five hundred km.
But the good thing is that the roads are good on the entire stretch with stunning views of the Aravalli Hills
and jungles, throughout. After riding from morning through the afternoon, we will make our way into one of
the beautiful cities in India – Udaipur. The city, also known as the city of lakes, is also well known for its
luxurious royal residences. Take a boat ride in the gorgeous Lake Pichola and watch a lovely sunset while
roaming around some of the city’s major attractions. If time permits (and if you have the energy left), ride up
to the extraordinary Badi Lake hill-point and have a panoramic view of the entire area. Stay overnight at the
hotel.

Day 06: Udaipur – Pushkar | 280Km | 6 Hrs

Duration – Approx. 6 Hours
Highlights – Scenic Ride, Hike to Savitri Temple
This is going to be a relatively relaxed day of riding so have an easy start to the morning and have
breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The destination for the day is a tiny town known as Pushkar. Over the last
few years, Pushkar has started receiving a lot of international travellers due to its laid back and less touristy
culture. On arrival, rest for some time at the hotel and later go out for a walk around the town. You’ll be able
to see most of Pushkar in just a couple of hours, including the only Brahma temple in the world. You may
also choose to hike up to the Savitri Mata Temple, located on top of a hill, and have a bird’s eye view of the
entire town. Stay overnight at the hotel/campsite.

Day 07: Pushkar – Jaipur | 150Km | 4 Hrs

Duration – Approx. 4 Hours
Highlights – Scenic countryside ride, Jaipur Sightseeing
After riding for six days across the state, we are going to arrive in its capital city – Jaipur. Even though we
have to ride a mere 150km, we will start early so that we have enough time to explore all that Pink City has
to offer. Arrive in Jaipur around noon and check-in to the hotel. Later, take your bike out and ride around
the city while seeing the various handicraft markets, museums and other tourist attractions. As it’s not
possible to check out all the places in the city in just one day, we suggest that you explore as much as
possible. An evening ride to the magnificent Nahargarh Fort is highly recommended. You could choose to
have complimentary dinner at the hotel or you could go out to any of the city’s popular authentic Rajasthani
restaurants and have some traditional food with some live folk music performed by the local musicians.

Duration – Approx. 5 Hours
Highlights – The last ride
Wake up nice and easy as this is going to be your last day on this monumental expedition through
Rajasthan. Have breakfast at the hotel-restaurant and start riding back to where it all started from. You may
choose to wake up early and explore some of the attractions in the city that you could not visit the day
before. The day’s ride should not take more than five to six hours as we will be riding on the smooth NH-48
and will make our way to Delhi via Neemrana and Gurgaon. After arriving at your concluding destination,
bid adieu to your fellow riders and get on with your journey back home.

Trip Ends.
