The knockout stage (round of 16) starts at 16:00 CET this Saturday (30th June).

The pairings for the knockout stage will be entered in the chart down the corridor from Vincent's office (5423) on Friday 29th June.

To revise the selection or join at this stage use the adhesive white labels to cover over your previous (no longer valid) entries and:

EITHER - revise or insert your selections in the table of entries on the glass door at the junction of the directorate’s two main corridors
on floor 5.

OR - send your revised or "joining late" selections by email to wmason@epo.org, or prouault@epo.org (but not to Thomas Müller as he
is absent).

In both cases payment can be made later.

The optimum time for revision or "joining late" (working through the knockout phase) is between:

21:45 CET on Thursday 28th June (group stage finalised).

==============
Dear all on Floor 5 of Dir 1020,

The World Cup 2018 in Russia will be taking place from Thursday 14th June to Sunday 15th July. For this reason we (Bill, Thomas,
Patrick ...) are again organizing the traditional "directorate" competition to guess the ordering of the first 4 teams. In view of the size of
the directorate, its present separation between floors 4 and 5 as well as historical reasons (tradition) it seems appropriate to limit our
competition essentially to those colleagues on floor 5, especially as colleagues on floor 4 will probably be organising their own
competition.

We will commence preparations in earnest towards the end of next week (7-8 of June), but can already provide the following
information:

The initial selection of 4 teams, should be made before 16:00 CET on Thursday 14th June in view of the opening match at 17:00 CET
on this day (18:00 in Moscow). This selection should not include more than 2 teams from the same group (A-H) since only two teams
from any group can survive the group stage.

Tournament plans to work out the progression of your selected teams will be available outside Bill's room (5416) and Thomas's room
(5441) - see also:
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_FIFA_World_Cup

Team photos of all 32 participants will be available outside Bill's room (5416) and Thomas's room (5441).

The table for entries of selections of teams will be on the glass door at the junction of the directorates two main corridors on floor 5,
across from the lift, just down from Vincent's office (5423).

Participation fee of 10 € to either Bill, Thomas or Patrick.

Revision of the selection of the teams, for an extra 10 €, will be possible before the knockout stage (round of 16) starts at 16:00 CET
(17:00 in Moscow) on Saturday 30th June. This revision may involve any number of team selections made before 15:00 CET on
Saturday 30th June (for example by email to Bill, Thomas or Patrick).

Kind regards,

Bill Thomas Patrick
