HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

HRM-8320-23F-SEC 12 – Capestone 1
Joan Kinsey

STUDENT ID - 8955090
In the last week, we sent an email regarding the desired project on which the team wanted to work.

But unfortunately, this also doesn’t work. All the slots have been full in the companies. But the effort

didn’t go in vain, and in this week (week 13), we got a company situated in India, namely Ganesh

Steel Manufacturing company Pvt. Ltd. We got this company from the reference of our team

member Anant Patel. He had some contacts in India. We got a positive response from the company.

Now, we have a meeting with the company on 27 November, wherein everything regarding the

project shall be discussed. The entire team is excited to get into the project soon, as it will be our first

project.

1. Major Steps of Project Propose and Specific Objective

Our last casual meeting was in the college cafeteria, wherein we selected 4 out of 21 project

categories. However, it did not work out as well and it was the last chance to get the company for

training. But somehow the reference of our team member blended well, and we got the company. As

already discussed, we have a meeting next week with the company. All the team members will attend

the meeting via Zoom call. We have prepared all the details to present in meeting. The entire team

had roughly discussed about the dates of the project kickoff meeting and project deadline. If the dates

are approved by the manager of the concerned company, we will soon start working on the project.

We also discussed the strategy to implement all the knowledge we gathered from the lectures.

2. Team Reflection and Group Dynamics

Teamwork: I am delighted to witness the harmonious and progressive development of our team. We

have distinctly outlined the roles and responsibilities of each team member, ensuring clarity

regarding contributions and obligations. During our recent meeting, we reviewed our collective

teamwork and identified areas for improvement as a team. Additionally, we agreed to exchange and

enhance our interpersonal skills among ourselves.

Group Dynamics: The group dynamics within our team have been notably positive. In our team

meetings, every member actively listens and honors each other's viewpoints. Every team member

feels at ease sharing their thoughts and ideas, because of the trust and mutual respect we build up in

the team. We highly regard the perspectives of team members and adopt ideas through collective

consensus.

Conflict Resolution: The teamwork within our group thrives on a positive dynamic. Whenever

challenges arise, we engage in open discussions, swiftly resolving issues and fostering stronger

bonds among team members. We view conflicts as chances to instigate positive transformations

within the team, embracing them as opportunities for growth.

3. Action Learning

I acknowledge the team's failures and setbacks, considering them as valuable learning opportunities.

Whenever an idea doesn't succeed as anticipated, our team diligently investigates the causes behind

these failures and seeks ways to address them in future endeavors. Additionally, we promote

knowledge sharing among team members, recognizing their diverse expertise in various domains.

4. Personal Leadership, Motivational Style, and Application of Weekly Course Content Learning

and Application

Personal leadership development:

I have gained insights into my strengths, weaknesses, and personal values, understanding how they

influence my approach to leadership. Effective leadership demands flexibility in adapting to

evolving situations. Moreover, I have enhanced my comprehension of time management and

prioritization, crucial elements in steering a team.

Motivational Style: Throughout this entire journey, I've realized that maintaining my own

motivation is paramount in inspiring and sustaining the team's motivation. I've learned how to uplift

the group and adapt myself accordingly. I firmly believe that a motivated team significantly

enhances positive outcomes and continuously fosters growth.

Learning and Application: The ongoing learning experience has proven valuable thus far and is

expected to remain beneficial until the project's completion. As mentioned earlier, I have gained

significant insights into nurturing motivational aspects and refining leadership skills. Engaging in

course tasks, collaborative projects, and discussions has provided ample chances to hone critical

thinking skills, a crucial asset in effective project management.
