The students will be tasked to draw the Lewis Structures of the following compounds:
                              A. H2O B. CH4 C. NH3
The students who will answer the following on the board will be chosen using a
                          spinning wheel.

2. Motivation The students will be divided into small groups with four members each. They will be
doing an experiment called Molecular Mixology. The students will prepare the
following materials: transparent plastic cups, oil, alcohol, water, and food color. The
students will follow the following procedure:
                              1. Fill the cup with water, another with oil, and another with alcohol.
                              2. Mix food color to the water.
                              3. Have students predict and observe what happens when they mix water and oil.
                              4. Have students predict and observe what happens when they mix water and
                                   alcohol.
The teacher will ask 3 students to share their observations and reflection as to why
water and oil will not mix and why water and alcohol was mixed. The 3 students will
be selected using the spinning wheel.

Say: Very good! Today we are going to learn about the polarity of molecular
compounds. At the end of the lesson, you are all expected to…
Students will read the objectives flashed in the screen.
B. Developmental The teacher will have a short discussion about polar and non-polar molecules. The
Activities / Lesson teacher will also discuss about the difference between polar and non-polar molecules
Proper based on their structure and electronegativity difference.
The teacher will also utilize the phet simulation to explain further the lesson.
C. Culminating
Activities
1. Exercises The students will be grouped according to their common interest. Each group will
have 4-5 members. Each group will be given a worksheet wherein they will color the
shape yellow if it is polar and red if the given molecule is non-polar.
Selected students through the spinning wheel will discuss the items in the worksheet
based on what they learn from the lesson.
                          Integration to Arts
2. Application The teacher will discuss about the two signs (positive and negative integers) in
mathematics by solving the operations of integers. The teacher will also discuss the
integration of polarity in physics, discussing the attraction and repulsion of magnets
with their respective signs. The teacher will also discussed the different moral polarity
in life relating it to their daily decision making.
