HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF PASIMA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Pasima Elementary School is situated at Brgy. Pasima Malasiqui, Pangasinan. It was

formally opened in 1942 and was named Pasima Primary School because it is composed of
only four grades from Grade 1-Grade 4.

The first School Head and Teachers of Pasima Primary School in 1942-1947 were the
following:

In 1947-1953 two new teachers were accommodated:

In 1953, the number of enrolment had increased so the Barangay Officials of Pasima
together with the P.T.A. officials requested two additional teachers and put up two temporary
classrooms whereas the Pasima Primary School turned into Pasima Elementary School. This
was through the leadership of the Barangay Captain Constantino Valdez.
The following were the Teachers and the Head Teacher of Pasima Elementary School in
1953- 1958.

With regards to the situation stated above on that 20th day of April, a parcel of land
situated at barrio Pasima Malasiqui, Pangasinan was donated by Cecilia de Guzman and her
children (heirs) to the school children of Pasima and Taloy through the PTA President
Domingo Ibuan and Constantino Valdez, the Brgy. Capt. Of Pasima as witness. Thus, the
school is named Pasima Elementary School

Due to the continuous increased of enrollment classrooms became a problem. The

school lacks classroom which is one of the basic needs of the pupils is order to learn and
ensure quality education.
From the year it started, lots of improvements to its physical structures were one to
make it conducive to learning and provide quality education to the pupils. Flagpoles, toilets,
barbed wire fencing the sides and back areas of the school were donated by the PTA Officials
of Pasima and Taloy then followed by the concrete fencing of the front area of the school
through the cooperation of the Brgy. Officials of Pasima and Taloy sometimes in 1970’s.
Additional classrooms were constructed in the following years under the leadership of Mr.
Angelo Q. Papillia.

In 1986, another 3- classrooms building was constructed under the former principal
Mrs. Candida M. Soriano.

In 2003, another one classroom building from Congressman Generoso Tulagan was
constructed. Then followed by 2- classroom building from Gov. Victor Agbayani was
constructed under the leadership of Mrs. Felisa S. Montemayor

In 2009, a classroom repair was given by the DEPED to Mrs. Susana Matabang
through our former principal Mrs. Rosita J. Villanueva. A deep well also constructed on
November 14, 2007 by the Inner Wheel Club of Malasiqui through the initiative of Mrs.
Marilou B. Go a grade 3 teacher of this school.

In 2010, a 2 storey 4 – classroom building was built sponsored by the Public Private
Partnership, and a school perimeter fence was constructed for the security of our school and
also a gate pergola was constructed to beautify the entrance of the school. All of this
accomplishment were done under the leadership of Dr. Candra E. Penoliar.

In 2015 - 2017 at her very short time of stay in this school she was able to provide 5-
classrooms building and a 1-phase covered court which made the teachers beneficiaries smile
with ease in their teaching – learning process. With its 756 pupils from Pasima ES continues
to struggle to greatness to have legacy of honor and glory to future generation and to society
with its present principal II, Dr. Neila U. Ferrer.

In 2017-2019 two span of our multi-purpose hall was built during the time of our
Principal II, Mrs. Esterlita Q. Fernandez.
 “As a school, we are a team, we should work together and protect each other. Our
utmost concern is the safety and welfare of our pupils”. These are some of the words of our
new principal, Sir Rogelio L. De Guzman during our first meeting with him. He also
emphasized the importance of collaboration and cooperation between School personnel and
parents/ stakeholders. He was now almost 3 years in this school and I’m so proud of his
accomplishments with regards to school facilities for the safety and welfare of our pupils
such accomplishment are as follows:
- Initiated the construction of the flooring of the School Multi- Purpose Hall
- Constructed of Handwashing Facility and Water System located at the back of the stage
- Purchased of handwashing Facilities in front each building
- Purchased of 7 printers to be used by teacher in printing activity sheets and instructional
material

Actually, there are still many classrooms needed in our school if possible to attain
quality education. Pasima ES teachers believe in the saying: Everything is possible with God
and so we are very hopeful to the blessings that our government will give us for our future
children and grand children
