POLLUTION

INTRODUCTION :

• Pollution is the introduction of harmful materials into the environment. These harmful materials
are called pollutants. Pollutants can be natural, such as volcanic ash. They can also be created by
human activity, such as trash or runoff produced by factories. Pollutants damage the quality of air,
water and land.
• Total Four types of pollution :-

1. AIR POLLUTION.
2. NOISE POLLUTION.
3. WATER POLLUTION.
4. SOIL POLLUTION.
5.
1. AIR POLLUTION :-

• Air pollution is caused by solid and liquid particles and certain gases that are suspended
in the air. These particles and gases can come from car and truck exhaust, factories,
dust, pollen, mold spores, volcanoes and wildfires.
• Air pollution is one of the world’s largest health and environmental problems. It develops
in two contexts: indoor (household) air pollution and outdoor air pollution.
• Air pollution, release into atmosphere of variousgases, finely divided solids,
or finely dispersed liquid aerosols at rates that exceed the natural capacity of
the environment to dissipate and dilute or absorb them.
2. NOISE POLLUTION :-

• Article Talk. Noise pollution, or sound pollution, is the propagation of noise

or sound with ranging impacts on the activity of human or animal life, most
of which are harmful to a degree. The source of outdoor noise worldwide is
mainly caused by machines, transport and propagation systems.
• Noise pollution. noun. unwanted or disturbing sound in the environment that
affects the health and well-being of humans and other living organisms.
3. WATER POLLUTION :-

• Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies, usually as a result of human activities, so that it negatively affects its
uses. Water bodies include lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers, reservoirs and groundwater. Water pollution results when
contaminants mix with these water bodies.
• Water pollution is the contamination of water sources by substances which make the water unusable for drinking, cooking,
cleaning, swimming, and other activities. Pollutants include chemicals, trash, bacteria, and parasites. All forms of pollution
eventually make their way to water. Water pollution is a very serious environmental issue that we are facing right now.
4. SOIL POLLUTION :-

• Soil pollution refers to the contamination of soil with anomalous

concentrations of toxic substances. It is a serious environmental concern
since it harbours many health hazards. For example, exposure to soil
containing high concentrations of benzene increases the risk of contracting
leukaemia.
• Landfills, junkyards and waste disposal sites pose high risk of soil
contamination, much like industrial sites. These areas often contain a large
mix of contaminant types like lead, arsenic, and petroleum products.
• PREVENTIONS :-

1. By using clean fuels such as LPG and CNG instead of diesel and petrol.
2. By not using vehicles for short distances.
3. Use Less Plastic. It is very difficult to break down plastic after it is produced.
4. Educate the public about the harmful effects of noise pollution.
5. Promote the use of quieter vehicles and machinery.
6. By reducing the use of plastics, we can reduce soil pollution.
7.
CONCLUSION :-

• Pollution is a big problem now. A lot of people thinks that they don`t
pollute because they don`t throw trash on the floor, but this is just one
little part of pollution. Pollution is any damage that we cause to the
environment and nobody can live without polluting our planet. People
should make certain lifestyle changes. It is better to take public transport
to reduce vehicular smoke and emissions.
