Statement of Purpose

Growing up in a business and industrialist background, I got to learn the core skills in the field at an
early age. It all started when I was around 10 years old and I visited my father’s office during summer
break. I observed him working, and I realised how exciting but complex marketing and business
management could be. I asked my father a lot of questions regarding his work and asked if I could
assist him. Since then, I started to develop a keen interest in management skills. After knowing the
potential the field has in the global market, I decided to choose International Business Management
as a career.

International business management requires an advanced set of skills compared to managing within
national borders. It demands extensive knowledge of local conditions and adaptability. As a result, it is
a very rare and desirable course for an individual. This field includes marketing, finance, and
organisational management, which are the key components of running a successful business.

My parents have played an instrumental role in shaping my personality. They provided me with good
facilities, which allowed me to perform well in my education along with helping me to create an
independent approach for my future. They believed in a child’s uniqueness and independent
capabilities and motivated me to pursue my passion. Their supportive nature is the main reason why I
was able to take the decision to pursue my degree abroad. I have had a lot of friends since childhood
.staying in a healthy competition with them aspired me to become better at extracurricular activities.
My mentors helped me to become a hard-working and disciplined student throughout high school.

In high school, I participated in many activities, such as business workshops and discussions. I even
represented my class at an inter-school debate competition. With up-to-the-mark grades, I got a
chance to become the Student Leader—which is a role allotted to a student who manages the events
taking place in the school throughout the year. It enhanced my leadership skills, and I shared
wonderful memories with my classmates. Apart from scholastic activities, I have worked closely with
my father’s company, which manufactures automotive parts. I got to learn from the seniors in the
marketing team and got a chance to understand the backend structure of the major businesses in the
industry. I have also worked on various business development projects with them.

During the pandemic, I wasn't able to get any on-field experience, so I decided to give back to my
community by contributing to an NGO providing basic facilities for the needy. Along with my parents,
we organised philanthropic campaigns that helped around 2000+ people in my city. An article on this
campaign was also published in a local newspaper named Divya Bhaskar. I felt content and joy
whenever I saw happy smiles on people's faces.

I'm specifically interested in studying in the USA since I can secure internships at reputable industries.
The US has a very high quality of education, and its educational system is respected throughout the
world. I decided to study in the United States in part because there are numerous options for me to
gain employment and launch my own business. Universities in the USA combine vocational training
with the core curriculum, exposing students to a variety of opportunities. In order to help students, US
universities run orientation programmes, workshops, and training since they are aware of the
difficulties faced by overseas students.

In conclusion, I would like to admit that my leadership experience and skills will help me achieve the
greatest results in the International Business Management programme at New Jersey Institute of
Technology. The chief reasons why I wish to study the programme at NJIT are the innovative and
unique syllabus pattern as well as the expert faculties. I would love to be a part of the varied and
family-like community. I am awaiting a favourable response.

Yours sincerely,

Dhruv Gorecha
