Information
-A Female cat can conceive any time during her cycle

-Cats are induced ovulators, Meaning the act or reproduction causes the obvious
to release eggs.

-A female cat can have her first heat as young as 4 months of age.

-A female cat will have 2-3 heat cycles during breeding season.

-Female Cats can get pregnant after just one mating.


Reproduction terms
Queen: Female cat of breeding age.

Tom: Male cat of breeding age.

Gestation: A cats pregnancy and it usually last 63-67 days.

Kitten: Young cat under 1 year old age

Uterus: Y shaped structure and consisting two uterine horns and a single body.

Colostrum: The cats ¨first¨ milk.


Characteristics
Puberty: Female cats come in heat, some cat may also move their tail a lot, self
confidence increases
Heat: When your cat is heated they tend to be more vocal, restless, not eating enough
Mating:During mating they are very vocal and they also like to rub on objects, people or
other animals
Pregnancy: Vomiting, Swollen pink nipples, weight gaining, has a swollen belly
Birth: Cats tend to hide, panting, eating less, passing red/brown mucus around the vulva
& more
Postpartum Care: Discharge coming from the vulva, restless, having discomfort in the
belly, may eat little food or refuse to eat at all.
