ANNUAL REPORT 2019-20 | 1

PREAMBLE
The ex-trainees of Ramkrishna Mission Samaj Seva Sikshan Mandir, Belur Math started some social service in
remote villages of sunderban since 1991-92.

To make their effort more coordinated, integrated and effective a registered social organization under West
Bengal Society Registration Act 1961, styled as “Sarvik Vivekananda Gram Seva Sanstha” was founded in 1993-94
with the ex-trainees of Ramkrishna Mission Samaj Savak Sikhan Mandir as members.

Since then the society’s multiple activities have spread over across fourteen districts of West Bengal and in
selected areas of the states of Tripura and Orissa.

The organization is not merely an institution for implementing package of programmes but a centre of
movement for inspiring, activating and organizing the rural people, particularly the women and youth,
enhancing their confidence, knowledge and job efficiency. But much is yet to be done. So many areas still
remain untouched. But our effort is still going on.
