Your Future Is In the Cards

In this lesson, we cover some advanced techniques for addressing all types of
questions. Outlined are several different types of questions and how to answer them
using the 3-card spread.

Yes/No (or Maybe)

People will often ask questions in terms of yes or no answers. In general, mostly red
cards give a YES answer while mostly black cards reflect a NO answer. But, most
situations aren't that black and white. So, it's best to combine the suits for more
information. When reading the spread, we look at the suits of the last two cards (2nd
and 3rd positions) to give a more specific yes/no answer. Use the information below to
guide you.

Clubs/Clubs - maybe, but it will require a lot of effort.

Clubs/Hearts - yes, and act quickly.

Clubs/Diamonds – maybe, but only if you go after it.

Clubs/Spades – maybe, but it will be a huge challenge.

Hearts/Hearts - definitely yes!

Hearts/Diamonds – yes, and help is on the way.

Hearts/Spades – maybe, but you will experience an emotional loss.

Diamonds/Diamonds - yes, but things will progress very slowly.

Diamonds/Spades – maybe, but it will cost you.

Spades/Spades – not at this time…there’s too much stacked against you.

Timing
The questioner may wish to know when an event will occur. If the initial question is one
of timing (When will I get a job?), then the card in the 3rd position is your timing card.
If the questioner asks about timing after you’ve already created your spread, select one
additional card to signify the timing card.
Since there are 52 cards and 52 weeks in a year, each card suit can be broken
down into the 13 weeks of each season. Clubs correspond to Spring; Hearts to
Summer; Diamonds to Fall; and Spades to Winter. For example, 2 of Spades = 2nd
week of Winter; the King of Clubs = 13th week of Spring. Here’s another way to look at
timing:
Clubs = immediately
Hearts = soon
Diamonds = later
Spades = not until a block is cleared…the block is related to this card’s energy.
For example, 9 of Spades means not until you get over your grief.
Decide which timing method you’ll use BEFORE you select the card.

Finding lost objects (and soulmates)

Inevitably, someone will ask for your help in finding a lost object. Fear not…sometimes
good results come from using the cards. The card in the 3rd position will give you
information on where the lost object is. If this card is a face card, use the information
below for your interpretation. If it’s not a face card, intuit the location based on the
card meaning. For example, the 4 of Clubs = rest and recovery = the object may be
around a bed or maybe it was lost in a hospital.
In general, Hearts show the object is around people and was lost in a social
setting. Clubs show the object was lost during some activity and/or is in something that
moves. Diamonds reveals that the object may be found in places where money is
exchanged like a store or other place of work or business. When Spades appear, the
object may not be found or there may be some deceit involved in its disappearance.
This method can also be used when the questioner asks, “Where will I meet my
soulmate?”

Jack of Clubs – the item was lost on a trip and/or is in a form of transportation like a
car, plane, train, etc.

Jack of Hearts – the item is in or near a children’s play area and/or a child will be
helpful in the recovery of it.

Jack of Diamonds – it is in a place where money changes hands or someone in need

has the item.

Jack of Spades – expect some deceit connected to the lost item – someone may have
stolen it for example; it’s in the hands of a troublemaker.

Queen of Clubs - it was lost on your way to a place you visited, such as a grocery
store, a friend's home in the neighborhood, or your place of work. It is visible and in the
open.

Queen of Hearts – it is with the belongings of a woman, possibly in a purse or other

container.

Queen of Diamonds - There is no need to look for it. You will find it when you clean
or reorganize.

Queen of Spades – there is a good chance the item will not be found; try to deal with
losing it without bitterness or regret.

King of Clubs – look for it in a place where you were last working; for example, if you
were cleaning the toilet, or washing the dishes, or making a bed, look for it in the
bathroom, kitchen or bedroom.

King of Hearts – it is in a place of healing or devotion or where you would see a

doctor, therapist or minister.

King of Diamonds – it is among money, checkbooks, bank statements or other

financial materials.

King of Spades – ask yourself, "When was the last time I was in a very serious mood
or deep in thought and where was I?" The item is in that place.

Forecasting into the Future

The 3-card spread is simple and gives straightforward answers every time. Use this
spread to forecast roughly 30 days into the future. You can also use the same spread
for a longer forecast. Set your intention before you shuffle the cards for the reading to
cover a longer timeframe. Here some examples of different timeframes:

30 days—60 days—90 days

3 months—6 months—9 months
1 year—2 years—3 years

You may do your original 3-card spread first and then choose an additional 3 cards for
another timeframe. It’s not recommended to forecast longer than 12 months because
your accuracy diminishes with the increasing timeframe.
