WHY IS AMAZON RAINFOREST
IMPORTANT?
- Amazon rainforest is creating 50-75 percent of
its own precipitation.
- 390 billion trees that are in the Amazon
rainforest contains massive amounts of carbon.
According to 2007 study from Global Change
Biology, In Amazon there are 86 billion tons of
carbon.
- Amazon rainforest is a huge habitat for many
species of animals and plants. Perhaps 30 percent
of the animals and plants are founded in Amazon
rainforest.
- In Amazon Basin millions of people depend on service that rainforest give. Rivers are main way
for transportation, Amazon stops air pollution. Also not completely eliminate but it helps to control
the fire. The fish in Amazon is huge source of protein.
HOW HUMANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
FIRE?
Humans have to use less paper or things that
use trees. Sometimes we should plant some
trees to save rainforests.
HOW THE FIRES ARE RELATED TO
CLIMATE CHANGE?
Air quality can be getting worser and oils can
dry out. If there is no tree after forest fire,
when there is landslide it can easily come to
the town. The forest that already caught the fire before, can be flammable at the future.
HOW IS THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY GOING TO HELP?
- According to Rainforest Alliance, few months later they will use almost 100% of donations to
Amazon rainforest
- According to Rainforest Foundation will make some campaign for Amazon Rainforests.
- Many organizations such as Amazon Watch, Earth Alliance, Amazon Conservation Team, WWF,
etc. are planning for saving Amazon Rainforest.
- Many organizations are planning to open campaign, workshop or use 90% or more of their
donations for Amazon Rainforest.
- Organizations are also planning to help people in Amazon Rainforest.
