LHTL traffic pattern DV-20
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
Pre flight check
•Check the papers, then the cabin, walk around the airplane, check the fuel
and oil quantity
•Read the check list and start the engine
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
Before taxy
•Make initial contact with Tököl info on 127.56 MHz after enginge start
„Tököl info good day, HA-DAL after engine start ready for taxy. 2 people on
board, PIC (your instructor or You if you are flying solo), task (either traffic
pattern or cross country)
•After responding to the AFIS, set the given QNH and taxy to the G bay via G1
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
During taxy
•Taxy with maximum 15Kts and remain on the centreline
•Do the briefing for the engine failure at low height
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
At the G bay
•Read the check list, and do the engine test run
•When you ready with the check list, call the info
„ Tököl info HA-DAL at the G bay ready for departure”
•After responding to the AFIS taxy to the active RWY end

Traffic pattern for RWY 32
•For the Take off run you can use the RWY before the displaced THR
•Align your DI with your compass HDG (320°)
•Apply full power and keep the aircraft on the centreline
•At v = 54 kts start the rotation and climb with vx = 60 kts
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
After take off
At QNH 500 ft:
1. Flaps up
2. Throttle set to 28 in.hg
3. Reduce to 2250 RPM
4. Fuel pump off
5. Gauges checked
6. Climb with Vy = 65 kts
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
Turning to crosswind leg
•When you cross the edge of the Danube river, start the first turn to the left and
maintain 230° magnetic track, pointing to the old brick factory
•Look back to the RWY. If the left wing trailing edge is parallel with the RWY
centreline, your direction is good
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
Turning to downwind leg
Above the brick factory turn to the left and maintain 140° magnetic track
At 1500 ft:
1. Reduce power to 22-23 in.Hg
2. Reduce to 2000 RPM
3. Gauges checked
4. Use the trimm if necessary
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
Turning to base leg
•When you abeam to the THR call the info
„Tököl info HA-DAL before base leg, left hand for 32 hard, tuch and go
(or full stop)”
•When you above the railway:
1. Thrust idle
2. RPM high
3. Carb. heat on
4. Fuel pump on
• Reduce you speed to 70 Kts while maintaining your altitude
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
On the base leg
•Descend with 70 kts
•Maintain 050° magnetic track
•Depending on the surface wind, extend the flap to the T/O position
•Before turning to final, check if there is any traffic on the final
•When the RWY THR has a 10-15° angle respect to the wing leading edge, start
the final turn
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
On final
•Plan your descend path to touch down at the displaced THR
•Extend the flap to the LDG position, and maintain the speed
DIAMOND DV-20 traffic pattern
After touch down
•If you are doing a touch and go:
1. Carb. heat off
2. Flaps T/O
3. Apply full power
If you are doing a full stop
1. Use the brake gently, and do a backtrack
2. Taxy back to the apron via G1
