Instruction: In your own perception, discuss the given framework below in not less than 300
words. You may use separate sheet of paper if necessary.

Short discussion:

Based on the theoretical framework, Outcome-Based Education (OBE) plays a crucial role in
developing a specific outcomes that are expected to be achieve by the end of a learning period.
In OBE, the entire educational process is driven by the results or outcomes that students are
expected to demonstrate. This approach is structured around various levels of outcomes,
namely institutional intended learning outcomes, program intended learning outcomes, and
course intended learning outcomes with the Model of instruction such as engage, explore and
apply. Institutional Intended Learning Outcomes are broad statements that reflect the overall
goals of an institution. These outcomes define of what students should know, understand, and
be able to do upon completion of their education at the institution. Intended learning outcomes
are designed to align with the institution's mission and vision. For example, an ILO could focus
on developing critical thinking skills, ethical leadership, communication proficiency, and global
awareness.
Program Intended Learning Outcomes is a specific to a particular academic program or major
within an institution. Program intended learning outcomes has an outline of knowledge, skills,
and competencies that students are expected to acquire within their program of study. On

Course Intended Learning Outcomes it is the most specific and detailed outcomes within the
OBE framework. These outcomes guide course design, content delivery, and assessment
methods. Course intended learning outcomes are typically measurable and observable, allowing
instructors to assess student achievement against predetermined criteria. While the Outcome-
Based Education (OBE) with the Model of Instruction such as engage, explore, and apply is an
approach that complements the OBE framework by emphasizing active learning and practical
application of knowledge. In the engage phase, students are introduced to the learning material
through interactive activities, and discussions.
The explore phase encourages students to delve deeper into the subject matter, analyze
concepts critically, and relate new information to existing knowledge. This phase promotes and
encourages students to build connections on the real world situation. The apply phase is where
students demonstrate their understanding and mastery of the learning outcomes. This phase
often involves practical assignments, projects, case studies, or real-world scenarios that require
students to apply their knowledge in authentic contexts. The apply phase is essential for
reinforcing learning and ensuring that students can transfer their knowledge to new situations.
In general, the OBE framework, supported by institutional, program, and course intended
learning outcomes, provides a important information in order to achieve an outcomes to
curriculum design and assessment. When combined with the engage, explore, apply
methodology, OBE will enrich an active learning, critical thinking, and practical skills
development among students, ultimately preparing them for success in their academic.
