Hello lovelies!
It's the end of the month and as the last post for September I wanted to share a
drawing process video of my little knitting mouse.
I'll walk you through my process from blank page to finished illustration, or if you'd
like to see the real-time version without my voiceover you can watch that here.
I hope you enjoy this video! You can find the other videos in these playlists:

 Lesson Style Videos (including the How To Add Texture tutorial and Colour tutorial
that I mentioned)
 Drawing Walkthrough Videos
 Real Time Drawing Videos (no voice-over, just my process without edits)

Enjoy! ♥

July Drawing Walkthrough Video

Hello Beautiful Bluebells!
For this month's drawing walkthrough video I've drawn us a lovely flower garden
with lots of layers! I wanted to show you an example of drawing from a reference,
organising layers and maintaining contrast when using lots of similar colours (like
green!).
Next month's video will be more lesson style, I'll put out a poll soon to ask what topic
you'd like me to cover first (maybe something like colours, texture or brushes?).
The reference photo I used is one I found on Pinterest - it's pinned in my Cute
Cottages board - and it's from the Pacific Horticulture account (here is the link to the
original page).
I've attached below the Photoshop file for this illustration so that you can have a look
through the layers if you like (does it work in Procreate?). Let me know if you have
any questions at all!
Hope you're all having a lovely July!

A summary of the technical details:
★ I'm using Adobe Photoshop on my Microsoft Surfacebook 2
★ The main brush I use is the 'natural feel' brush from Kyle's Megapack Brushes (you
can download them here if you use Photoshop), and I also used 'encaustic grit' from
the same pack
★ My artboard is 2200x2200px at 150ppi and RGB colour mode

Hello my Beautiful Bluebells!
The drawing walkthrough video for this month is here! Since I'm hosting a cottage
drawing challenge over on Instagram at the moment I thought it would be nice to
show you how I draw a cottage from scratch.

This one is a little shorter at 32 minutes long, I wanted to ask you whether you prefer
something a bit shorter like this or the longer 45 minute videos?
I'd love to know your feedback on these videos because I want you to get the most
out of them, perhaps I'll make a questionnaire and you can tell me what you'd like to
see more (or less) of.
Hope you're all having a lovely June! It's quite chilly here in Tasmania but it's perfect
weather for drinking lots of tea.

Hello my Beautiful Bluebells!
This month's voice-over video walkthrough is here and since I'm celebrating my one
year drawing anniversary this week I've redrawn an old illustration in my current
digital style.

I'll tell you all about what I'm doing and why I'm doing it, but if there's anything I've
missed or that you want me to focus on for next time, just let me know!
I'm really pleased with how this one turned out and I hope you like it too! ♥

March Drawing Walkthrough Video

It's here! I made my first voice-over video!
Grab a cup of tea and spend half an hour with me as I walk you through my drawing
process illustrating this kitty in a teapot.
Because it's the first video like this that I've made I wasn't sure how to best go about
it and would love your feedback.
I was worried that real-time for an hour would be too long so I've set it at double
speed, and I've talked fairly generally about what I'm doing. Would you like it to be
more detailed? More specific? Like it just the way it is?
Let me know below or send me a direct message if you have any suggestions, these
videos are for you so I want you to find them helpful! ♥

A summary of the technical details:

★ I'm using Adobe Photoshop on my Microsoft Surfacebook 2
★ The only brush I use is the 'natural feel' brush from Kyle's Megapack Brushes (you
can download them here if you use Photoshop)
★ My artboard is 2200x2200px and RGB colour mode

Key takeaways:
★ Draw a sketch and then reduce the opacity and set the blend mode to multiply,
now when you draw on new layers below you'll have your sketch above as a guide
★ Use clipping masks to apply textures directly to the shape below
★ Play with the blend modes of your textures, mine are often set to 'multiply'

Let me know what you think! ♥
