It’s my pleasure to welcome all students to Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University,
Dehradun, popularly known as Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU). The University has been taking care of
technical and professional education across the state since its establishment in the year 2005 vide Act no 415 of
2005 by the Uttarakhand State Govt through its 80 affiliated Institutions.
University feels pride in sharing that it has remodelled all of its programmes namely B.Tech., B.Pharm.,
BHMCT, MBA, MCA, M.Tech., M.Pharm., MHM, BA LLB, BBA LLB, LLB, LLM, Pharm D., and PhD as per the
contemporary and futuristic requirements in line with the mandate of National Education Policy 2020 since
academic session 2022-23. The multidisciplinary education framework and choice-based credit system set up by the
University offer the students to recreate the programme as per their interests and passion using the well-laid majors
clubbed with multiple minors in all emerging areas. The University's constant focus on enhancing the quality of
teaching-learning processes in classrooms and laboratories makes its academic ambience efficacious and empowers
its students to take up future challenges.
The statutory compliance of the norms and standards of the All India Council for Technical Education,
Pharmacy Council of India, and Bar Council of India by all the Institutions affiliated with the University in
respective programmes ensures a learning environment for the holistic development of students. The curriculum and
programme structure has been reorganized for 360-degree development of students with maximum opportunities to
realize their goals. Besides this, the University has a strong commitment to an accountable, transparent, and
worthwhile teaching-learning-evaluation system. Also, the placement activities are carried out by the Institutions
and University. The innovation and incubation activities in the Institutions/University nurture student for
undertaking entrepreneurship and becoming potential contributors to the economy. The young alumni of the

 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE SESSION 2023-24

1. INTRODUCTION

Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University formerly Uttarakhand Technical
Unibversity, Dehradun has been established by Act 4015 of 2005 by Uttarakhand State Government for
the advancement and development of Technical Education in Uttarakhand state. The University offers the
undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs pertaining to engineering & technology, pharmacy,
management, architecture, and law through the institutions associated with it as
affiliated/constituent/campus institutions. As per the Regulations of the University vide no. 1238/XLI-
1/2018-06/2008 dated 17 December 2018, there is an Admission Counselling Board under Admission
Committee for taking decision on the matters pertaining to admissions to all programmes offered by Veer
Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun and College of Technology, G.B.
Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. University constitutes a Coordination
Committee for carrying out admission process in respective academic session under superintendence of
the University authorities.
Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University has remodeled its all programmes as per
the National Education Policy 2020 from the academic session 2022-23. The multiple entry and exit
options have been added along with the concept of multidisciplinary education in all programmes to the
extent possible without sacrificing the core strength of respective programme. Currently, the University
is proud to offer 215 variants of B. Tech. programmes in Major and Minors, Bachelor of Pharmacy
(B.Pharm.), Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), Master of Hotel
Management (MHM), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.), Master of Computer Application (MCA), 18
specializations of Master of Technology (M.Tech.), 08 specializations in Master of Business
Administration (MBA), MBA(Integrated), MBA(Part Time), BALLB, BBA LLB, LLB, 09
specializations of LLM, Pharm. D. and Ph.D. programmes.
Admission in the first year of B.Tech, B.Pharm, BHMCT, BALLB, BBALLB, Pharm.D, MCA, MBA,
MHM, M. Pharm, M.Tech, LLM and second year of B.Tech. & B. Pharma offered at University
Departments and affiliated Government/Private Institutes of Uttarakhand and College of Technology, G.
B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar (here after referred to as institute) for the
academic year 2023-24. The admission to Ph.D. programs will be notified separately.

2. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
i. All admissions to the programmes offered by University/Institute shall be carried out by the
University following single admission window. There shall be multiple rounds of counselling
for granting the admission to the candidates in different programmes as decided by the
Admission Committee/Admission Counselling Board/University. The admissions granted by
Institutions will not be valid for enrolment.
ii. Admission to an institute implies acceptance by the candidate of all the provisions given in
the brochure/prospectus of the University. Any change in the rules, regulations, fees, special
conditions, etc. of the institute will apply to him/her.

iii. The information indicated in the brochure/prospectus of an institute is only for general
guidance of the candidates.

iv. The candidates are advised to read each and every instruction given in this information
brochure very carefully before filling up the Online Application form.

v. Do not send the print out of your application form to University but you can keep a copy for
your reference.

vi. A candidate will submit separate application for different courses.

vii. The application form will not be scrutinized, and hence the onus of proving the category of
the candidate and eligibility criteria for admission to offered programmes lies solely with the
candidate at the time of Admission.

viii. Notwithstanding any provisions in this brochure, with respect to reservation of seats and any
particular matter related to admission, the latest Government Order issued by Government of
Uttarakhand and the latest norms prescribed by AICTE, PCI, BCI and other regulatory bodies
as applicable on the date of admission, shall be applicable. No claim in this regard by the
candidate shall be entertained.

ix. The Co-ordination Committee is competent to take all decisions on matters relating to
Admission and allotment of the institutes mentioned in this Brochure and may frame rules in
this regard. The decision of the Co-ordination Committee shall be final.

x. If any declaration submitted by the candidate is found to be false at any stage including
during his/her stay in the institute, his/her admission shall be cancelled and he/she will be
liable for prosecution under the law.

xi. In case of admissions being sought on false information or gross misconduct is committed,
University reserves the sole authority to cancel the enrolment of any student at any stage.

xii. In case of any legal dispute, the jurisdiction will be limited to Lower District Court,
Dehradun and High Court, Nainital and will not be subjected to the jurisdiction of any other
courts except Supreme Court.

3. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS

i. The applicants are required to fill the Admission Application Form and pay the applicable
fees to the University by ONLINE mode only as per the admission notification schedule
announced by the University. However, the University starts Provisional Registration of the
students interested in seeking admission to the programs and Institutions associated with the
University. This Provisional Registration will not entitle any candidate for admission to any
program / institution and every candidate interested in seeking admission has to essentially
submit the duly complete Admission Application Form (including choices in order of
preference) as per admission notification(s) / schedule issued by the University from time to
time.

ii. The candidates have to complete the online admission application form in all respect and
also upload his/her photograph in the appropriate box. The candidates are further advised to
re-check the entries/information provided by him/her before submitting the same as there is
no option for editing the entries after submission of application form. After submitting the
form, the candidate is required to download and take the print of the submitted application
form for keeping the hard copy. The candidates are advised to retain the hard copy of the
form submitted to the University for their further reference and query, if any.

iii. All information / communication regarding admission will be shared from University
website only. No individual communication will be sent unless decided by University to do
so in extraordinary circumstances.

iv. Specifications for photograph to be submitted are as below:

 A photograph of minimum 35x45 mm with at least 75% coverage of face & head of the
candidate taken after 01-01-2023.
 A caption indicating name of candidate and date of taking photograph should be there at
the bottom of the photograph.
 Photograph should be taken in a white/very light colored background.
 The photograph needs to display full front view of the face. Please look directly into
thecamera with a natural expression.
 Please avoid with reflection of shadow on the face with red eyes.
 The photograph needs to be printed on a high quality paper with at least 600 dpi
resolutions.
 The colors must possess the natural appearance and skin tone.
 The photograph must not have kinks, scratches and stains.

The candidates must upload and paste the above specifications photograph in application form
and advised to keep at least 06 copies of same photographs. The candidates will have to
produce the same copy of photograph in the process of admission, document verification,
enrolment, etc.

v. Last date for submission of online application form will be announced on University on
its website www.uktech.ac.in.

vi. In case the information provided by the candidate is found wrong in the application form,
his/her application will be summarily rejected. If any candidate secures admission in the
college/institute/University by providing wrong information in his/her application, detected

 later on in due course, his/her admission will be cancelled at the cost and risk of the
candidate.

vii. Candidates’ eligibility is purely provisional and is subject to the fulfilment of eligibility
criteria as prescribed in this Information Brochure, during subsequent verifications of
his/her documents at counselling, admission or afterwards.

viii. Instructions in the Information Brochure are liable to change based on decisions consciously
taken by the Admission Committee/Admission Counselling Board/Technical Education
Department, Uttarakhand Government from time to time. There is no equity or any rights
that are / or deemed to be arising in favour of candidate.

ix. The candidate must ensure before filling the application form that he/she fulfils the
eligibility requirements for admission/appearing in the entrance examination. Change of
category is not permitted at later stage. The fee once paid shall not be refunded in any case,
even not in the event of rejection of application for any reason. Only eligible candidates will
be considered for admission. In case of any admission offer issued based on false
information or inadvertent mistake, the same will be cancelled by University and no claim
shall be entertained.

x. The candidates are advised to give their complete mailing address, ID proof details and
correct contact telephone numbers and email in the application form.

xi. The records of the Entrance Examination (JEE-Mains as procured from the organizing
agency) & Counselling data shall be preserved only for a period of one year from the date of
the Entrance examination (JEE-Mains).

xii. In all the matters relating to counseling and admission, the decision of Admission
Committee/Admission Counselling Board / University as the case may be, shall be final.

xiii. In case of any ambiguity in interpretation of any of the instructions/terms/rules/criteria the

determination of eligibility/conduct of examinations/registration of candidate/information
contained herein, the interpretation of the Admission Committee / Admission Counselling
Board / University as the case may be, will be final and binding.

PG DIPLOMA Passed Bachelor Degree of minimum 3 years duration.

SECURITY reserved category) in the qualifying examination.

5. DOMICILE REQUIREMENTS
Those candidates who have passed/are appearing in the qualifying examination from/in other states, but
have domicile of Uttarakhand are eligible to apply for admission under Uttarakhand quota. At the time of
counseling, Domicile Certificate must be produced issued by the competent authority.
*Who has passed qualifying examination from Uttarakhand Technical Board/Universities are also
eligible for lateral entry seats but will not be eligible for any reservation.

In case of Non availability of above candidates for Lateral Entry the available vacant seats will be
filled by the Eligible candidates from other than Uttarakhand states provided they have passed 3
or 2 year Diploma (As per AICTE norms) from the Institutions recognized by the Board of
Technical Education of other State Governments / Central Government in India and which are
considered equivalent by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education in any branch of
engineering/technology except Agriculture Engineering.
6. RESERVATIONS
In Government Funded Institutes, the reservations for Uttarakhand candidates will apply as per
Uttarakhand Government rules and for all India seats, the reservations will be applicable as per the
Government rules.

7. CATEGORY
Candidate in General Category and those claiming reservation of any type must indicate their category in
the application form. Subsequent request for change of category shall not be entertained. Categories
must be supported by the relevant certificates to be produced at the time of Counselling, failing
which the candidate shall be treated in general category. The proforma for certificates as prescribed by
the Uttarakhand State Government will be considered valid.

8. FEE
The University affiliates the Institutions for the programmes as approved by the respective regulating body like
AICTE/PCI/BCI after the no-objection from the State Government. However, the fees for each programme and
Institution is decided by the Fee Regulating Body prescribed by the State Government. Therefore, the students
are advised to check fee details for particular programme in the website of the Institute concerned.
9. CHOICE FILLING FOR COUNSELLING
At the time of final admission application form as per schedule notified by the University, the candidates
are required to submit all possible choices which they are interested in studying i.e. Institute and
Programme/Branch details in order of preference. No change of preference will be entertained after the
submission of the final admission application form.

10. BASIS FOR GRANT OF ADMISSIONS

The admissions shall be offered on the basis of merit of applicants received by the last date. The B. Tech.
admissions shall be first carried out based on JEE / Class 12 Merit for two rounds. Nevertheless, the
admission of rest all of the programmes shall be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
The University will be granting provisional admission to the candidates whose final results have not been
declared, following the criteria described on the University website, which is subject to submission of result
by the date of admission/enrolment.
