INTRODUCTION:
Climate change has emerged as one of the most pressing challenges of our time, posing
significant threats to ecosystems, societies, and the environment worldwide. Human activities,
particularly the emission of greenhouse gases, have resulted in rapid changes to the Earth's
climate system. In this report, we will examine the global impact of climate change on the
environment and delve into the specific ramifications it has on Pakistan's natural resources and
ecosystems.
Global Environmental Impacts of Climate Change:
Climate change is causing a wide range of detrimental effects on the environment, disrupting
fragile ecosystems and altering natural processes. Rising global temperatures contribute to the
melting of polar ice caps and glaciers, resulting in sea-level rise. Coastal areas are increasingly
susceptible to erosion, flooding, and loss of habitat, endangering numerous plant and animal
species.
The warming climate also leads to the acidification of oceans, which harms marine life and coral
reefs. Changes in ocean temperature and chemistry disrupt the delicate balance of ecosystems,
impacting the availability of food and resources for countless marine organisms. Additionally,
the intensification of extreme weather events, such as hurricanes and cyclones, further damages
coastal and marine ecosystems, exacerbating the loss of biodiversity.
Climate Change's Impact on Pakistan's Environment:
Pakistan, a country located in South Asia, faces severe environmental consequences due to
climate change. The country's diverse ecosystems, including forests, wetlands, and coastal areas,
are at risk. Deforestation, driven by factors such as agricultural expansion and timber extraction,
reduces the capacity of forests to absorb carbon dioxide, exacerbating greenhouse gas emissions
and contributing to climate change.
Moreover, changing weather patterns affect Pakistan's unique biodiversity. Increased
temperatures and altered precipitation patterns disrupt natural habitats, leading to species
migration, loss of biodiversity, and potential extinction. These changes also affect pollination
patterns, with cascading effects on agriculture and food security.

Furthermore, the deterioration of Pakistan's coastal ecosystems due to rising sea levels and
intense storms threatens fragile mangrove forests and marine biodiversity. Coastal erosion and
saltwater intrusion into freshwater sources further exacerbate the challenges faced by local
communities, including loss of livelihoods and increased vulnerability to natural disasters.

Literature:
NASA Global Climate Change presents the state of scientific knowledge about climate
change while highlighting the role NASA plays in better understanding our home planet.
This effort includes citing multiple peer-reviewed studies from research groups across the
world, illustrating the accuracy and consensus of research results (in this case, the scientific
1

consensus on climate change) consistent with NASA’s scientific research portfolio. With that
said, multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals1 show that climate-
warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities.

SDG:
Our SDG topic is climate change where we humans consciously and unconsciously
participating in climate change and effecting to our planet.

Define: Climate change: Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and
weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been
the main driver of climate change.

Previous studies:
Statement on Climate Change from some Scientific Associations.
American Association for the Advancement of Science
"Based on well-established evidence, about 97% of climate scientists have concluded that
human-caused climate change is happening.

American Chemical Society

"The Earth’s climate is changing in response to increasing concentrations of greenhouse
gases (GHGs) and particulate matter in the atmosphere, largely as the result of human
activities."

American Geophysical Union

"Based on extensive scientific evidence, it is extremely likely that human activities,
especially emissions of greenhouse gases, are the dominant cause of the observed warming
since the mid-20th century. There is no alterative explanation supported by convincing
evidence.

American Medical Association

"Our AMA ... supports the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s
fourth assessment report and concurs with the scientific consensus that the Earth is
undergoing adverse global climate change and that anthropogenic contributions are
significant

American Meteorological Society

"Research has found a human influence on the climate of the past several decades ... The
IPCC (2013), USGCRP (2017), and USGCRP (2018) indicate that it is extremely likely that
human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-
twentieth century

Social/practical implementation:
There are several steps we can take to stop climate change. Some of the most effective steps
include:

1. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions: We can reduce greenhouse gas emissions

by using renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy and improving
energy efficiency in buildings and transportation.
2. Plant trees: Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, so planting more
trees can help reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
3. Reduce waste: We can reduce waste by recycling, composting and reducing the
consumption of single-use products.
4. Use sustainable farming practices: Sustainable farming practices can help reduce
greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and livestock production.
5. Supporting climate policies: We can support policies that aim to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable practices.
6. Educate others: Educating others about the causes and effects of climate change
can help raise awareness and encourage action.
By reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, protecting forests and adopting
sustainable agricultural practices, we can work to reduce our contribution to
climate change.

By taking these steps, we can help stop climate change and protect the planet for
future generations.

Organization:

Pak Laser Engraving and Repro House: was founded in Jan 2017.This company
makes posters and work along with plants. We visited this organization with the
mission to know about there plastic recycling process and advancement in plants
chemistry along with how this organization working to save the environment.

Our Questions were?

How this organization recycle plastic waste?

How this organization manage its waste?

How this organization working in plants biochemistry and making new more
useful plants seeds?

Which energy sources this huge organization use?

How this organization participating to save environment?

Activity performed:

We informed their employes about the value of our planets and how we
consciously and unconsciously harming it. being humans how we participating in
climate change and informed them about solutions how we can reduce our
participation in harming our planet.

By planting more trees.

By using public transport instead of private transport and prefer to walking for
short distance.

Burn less carbons.

Release less harmful gases in environment.

Educate others: Educating others about the causes and effects of climate change
can help raise awareness and encourage action.

Reduce waste: We can reduce waste by recycling, composting and reducing the
consumption of single-use products.

Conclusion
In conclusion, climate change is a significant global issue caused primarily by
human activities. The scientific consensus, as supported by various scientific
associations and research studies, confirms the reality of human-caused climate
change. To address this challenge, it is crucial for individuals, organizations, and
governments to take action.

One organization that is actively working to protect the environment is Pak Laser
Engraving and Repro House. During our visit to the organization, we inquired
about their plastic recycling process, waste management strategies, advancements
in plant biochemistry, and their energy sources.
Recycling plastic waste is an essential step in reducing environmental pollution.
Pak Laser Engraving and Repro House likely has a plastic recycling system in
place to process and reuse plastic materials, contributing to the reduction of plastic
waste in landfills or oceans.

Efficient waste management is another critical aspect of environmental
conservation. The organization is likely implementing effective waste management
practices, such as recycling, composting, and minimizing the consumption of
single-use products. These actions help reduce waste and minimize the
environmental impact.
In terms of plant biochemistry, the organization may be involved in research and
development activities to create new and more useful plant seeds. By advancing
plant biochemistry, they can potentially contribute to sustainable agriculture and
enhance the resilience of plants in the face of climate change
