Terminal Upgrade Guide
1 SUMMARY
The purpose of this Terminal Upgrade Guide is to provide user instructions in order to confirm a
terminal’s firmware / software is up to date and the device has been key injected at DMG’s Key Injection
Facility (KIF).
This guide covers the following topics:
• How to check security keys (without these, a terminal cannot process financial transactions),
• How to check the firmware version, update may be required if older than 31/12/2020
• How to update the firmware / payment application on a terminal using the “PayDroid” tool.
Additional instructions will be provided if version is older than 31/12/2020.
• How to update the device to use a Telstra M2M Sim card
• How to update your software after DataMesh has loaded the latest version on your device.
2 START UP
After you power on the device and it completes its internal start up sequence, you will be presented with
a home screen where you can open the DMG Satellite App (by default the Satellite App will start
automatically).

3 HOW TO’s
How to check for security keys
In order to check if security keys are present on the device, perform the following:
1. Open Calculator app (if you’re already in the DMG “Satellite” Payment Application, you may need
to enable the Navigation Bar in the Settings menu to get to the Android homepage).
2. In the Calculator App, key in the following and the PaxSPManager utility will open:

3. Select “SP Terminal Info”, then “SPInfo”, then scroll down to KEY INFO. Device keys should be
shown (example below):
If nothing is present under Key Info, then the terminal is not capable of performing financial
transactions and arrangements should be made to return the device to DMG.

How to check the firmware version
In order to check the firmware version, perform the following:
1. Go to “Settings ”, enter the following password then press OK”:

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings menu, select About Device option, then look for “Build
number”.
3. The correct build number should end with “20201231”.
If the “Build number“ shows an older date (for example “20201115”) the firmware must be updated (see
Section 3.5 below).
How to update the device to use a Telstra M2M Sim card
1. Go to “Settings ” on the home screen of the terminal, enter the following password then
press OK”:

2. Scroll down and …More, select Cellular networks
3. Select Access Point Names
4. Click on Telstra.wap
5. Click on APN, Update the wording from Telstra.wap to Telstra.m2m and push ok
6. Click the top right-hand corner “three dots menu button” and push save (If this step is missed it
will not enable the Sim card)
7. Your device is now provisioned for a Telstra m2m Sim card.
How to update software after DataMesh has loaded the latest version to your device.
1. Go to payment app idle screen
2. Press “i” button on the top right corner to download the upgrade URL
3. Press “setting” button on the top right corner, enter merchant password “0000” -> press
“SOFTWARE UPGRADE” -> it should display “Please wait, URL:

4. Once the system install screen popup, press “Install”.

How to update the firmware / software application on a terminal using the PayDroid tool – DataMesh
to provide additional information for upgrade
1. Download and open “PayDroid Tool” supplied by DMG.
2. Connect the terminal to your computer using the terminal cable provided.
3. Click on the “Add” button to add files to be upgraded on the device (e.g., latest firmware /
payment application files provided by DMG) and click the “Download” button.
4. Allow 10-15 minutes for the update to take place. The device will re-start automatically.
Pay Droid Tool Instructions:
Step 1
PayDroid Tool: Push Ctrl on your keyboard and click on the PayDroid Tool link below (depending on what
OS you are using), then once the folder screen pops up click on download in the top left hand corner,
once loaded click on open file top right of screen, then double click on the PayDroid tool folder, then
double click of the PayDroid Tool V1.08 icon, push extract if asked to do so and then select extract again.
Then re double click on the PayDroid tool folder, then double click on the PayDroid Tool V1.08 icon if you
needed to extract if not continue with Blue box screen, select More info , select Run anyway, select Yes,
Click on the PayDroid Tool Blue icon at the bottom of your screen “Welcome to the PayDroid Tool Setup
Wizard”, click next, next again, next again, install, Yes, restart the computer now and click Finish. When
your computer restarts the PayDroid tool should be on your desktop ready to load the firmware below
onto your PayDroid tool.

Step 2
Firmware for A920: (Copy and paste the link below to your internet browser like you’re looking up a
website, you will then see it load in the bottom left corner of your screen, once loaded click the up arrow
and push show in folder, then save the file to your computer. Load file to PAX PayDroid Tool by selecting
Add, then locating and select the saved firmware, make sure to update the drop down box in the bottom
right hand corner to All files instead of just App files (Pic below), then push open and it should add the
firmware to your payDroid tool. You then should be ready to follow the steps below 1.1 to update the
firmware.

Step 3
How to update the firmware
1. Download and open “PayDroid Tool” supplied by DMG.
2. Connect the terminal to your computer using the terminal cable provided. (This is your charging
cord and goes into the same charging point on your device)
3. Tick the box on the left hand side of the firmware link in the Application file download box, then
push Download.
4. Allow about 10 minutes for the update to take place. The device will re-start automatically, do not
unplug the device whilst the loading is happening.
5. Then firmware should then be updated on your device.
