TEKS 1

Narmada Park

When you step in Narmada temple, you‘ll feel as if you’re in Rinjani


mountain which surrounded by wood and lake. This holy place stands impressively
in Narmada park which is a ‘miniature’ of Rinjani mountain. Allegedly, king
of Anak Agung Gede Karangasem built this temple because of his old age that he
couldn’t climb Rinjani mountain to do the pray. As a replacement, he built a temple
in a Rinjani mountain ‘miniature’ which is known as Narmada park.
In the park area, there is the first yard called Jabbal Kap. In this yard, you’ll
be able to see twin pools which are surrounded by mangosteen trees. The next yard,
is Mukedas. This second yard will be the first yard you will step in because it located
right in after the entrance. In this yard, there is bale loji which was king’s resting
place, and bale terang which was a warehouse. Then you need to down stairs to go
to Padmawangi pool which there’s a fountain in the middle of it. In the north side of
the pool there’s a small house which called bale petirtaan. Inside bale petirtaan there
is Amerta Padmawangi which sourced from Rinjani mountain and you can ask for it
to the caretaker. In the east side of the youthful look fountain, there is stair soars
to Kalasa temple. Kalasa comes from the name of a sacred river in india, as a staying
place for god Ciwa. This temple is indeed a worshipping place for god Ciwa. Unlike
any other temples which divided into three main parts in line, this holy place only
has two yards which form a square. In the outermost yard, you will see two bale
gong. While in the inside yard, which is surrounded by red bricks, you will see
three sanggahwhich symbolize the trinity in Hindu. This inside yard has two gates in
the west and south side.
To enter Kalasa temple, you have to see the caretaker first which lives in the
north side of the temple. This temple only open at certain prays.
From this temple, you can go to bale gong. There, you can see all the view
of Narmada park and its surrounding area. If you’re sweating after walking around
the temple, you can experience the cold water of the pool which sourced naturally,
or sailing in the big pool using swan-shaped boat. To operate it, you have to row it.
After you’re tired of swimming or rowing, you can take a rest at the east side
of the park, where you can find colorful food stalls. This stalls located in higher
place compared to the swimming and the big pool. The foods served here mostly
is sate bulayak, which is satay (Indonesian traditional food made from chopped
chicken, beef, or fish) which eaten with bulayak (rice cooked in palm leaves).
Narmada temple is located only 12 km from Mataram Lombok. To reach it
you can use personal car or public transportation. By personal car, you can take
route Mataram-Cakranegara-Bertais-Narmada. With public one, you may take
Mataram-Sweta, then Sweta-Narmada. Narmada temple is right In front of
Narmada market.
TEXT 2.

BAYAN BELEQ MOSQUE

The civilization which developed in Lombok island is Islam. Almost 90% of the
people are moslem. But if you want to know the history as well as to see the remnant of it,
come and visit Bayan Beleq mosque, the oldest mosque in Lombok island.
Bayan Beleq mosque is located around 80 km from Mataram, and becomes the
most wanted attraction for the local or foreign visitors. The visitors are not the Islam wetu
telu followers only, but also those who want to know the history of Islam in Lombok island.
This mosque was built by Syeh Gaus Abdul Razak, one of Islam missionary
in Bayan in 16th century. The mosque has square shape with wall’s height around
125 cm. the wall is made from bamboo weaving which stands on stone foundation as
high as an adult’s waist. The roof is shape like meru and in the top of it there is
wood decoration which shape like a crown. The shape of the roof building describes
the Hindu-Java influence which came before Islam.
In front of the mosque, precisely in the north side of the mosque door, there
is a gentong (an earthen pot uses to keep water supply). The gentong is sat and tied
to a semboja tree. This gentong functions to keep the water for wudhu (an Islam
procedure to clean the body before praying).
To enter the mosque, you have to bow a bit. Inside the mosque, you will see
floor from land, and an old bigbedug (a large suspended drum used to signal the time
for Islamic prayers to begin) which still well preserved. The four pillars of the
mosque symbolize the unity of four villages which contributed in building the
mosque.
You could also see two decorations in the shape of fish and bird above those
pillars. Every decoration has its own meaning. Fish is a creature lives in water and
has a meaning as a lower life / earthly. While the bird is described as a life after
death. The meaning is that every faithful human should be able to balance the
earthly and heavenly life. Besides, you could also see the decorations in the shape od
tree, egg, chicken and dragon hanging above the altar. In the dragon’s body there are
three birds which represent Islam wetu telu.
Islam wetu telu is a teaching which hold on three things : religion, custom
and government. Wetu telu is a reflection of the history of human kind on earth,
which was born as a will of God through parents as a media.
Besides the mosque as the main building, you will see six other buildings
surround it. The size are different. Inside these six buildings, there is Bayan moslem
ancestor’s grave . you could also see four graves with different size and irregular
position in the south side of the mosque. Underneath the graves, has been buried the
first people of Bayan who hold Islam Lombok and the first Islam missionary in
Bayan. In the north side of the mosque, there are two graves, one is belongs to
Syekh Gaus Abdul Razak, and Titi Mas Penghulu.
After satisfy in seeing the Islam remnant, you can step by to localsouvenir
shop in front of Bayan Beleg mosque. There, you can buy miniature of Bayan Beleq
mosque and other Lombok traditional stuffs.
You can also visit this mosque by personal/rental car in 2 hours from
Mataram city. The route you can take is Mataram-Senggigi-Pemenang-Tanjung-
Gangga-Anyar-Bayan. You can also take public transportation to reach it, but with
time consideration and the public means availability, it’s better if you take
personal/rental car to get here.

Kelompok 1 Monument Nasional

The National Monument (or Monument Nasional) is a 132 meters tower in the
center of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta. It symbolizes the fight for Indonesia’s
independence. The monument consist of a 117,7 m obelisk on a 45 m square platform at a
height of 17 m.
The towering monument symbolizes the philosophy of Lingga and Yoni. Lingga
resembles, rice pestle (alu) and Yoni resembles a mortar rice (lesung), two important items
in Indonesian agricultural tradition.
The construction began in 1961 under the direction of President Soekarno and the
monument was opened to the public in 1975. It is topped by a flame covered with gold foil.
The monument and museum is opened daily from 08.00 – 15.00 every day throughout the
week, except for the last Monday of the month the monument is closed.

Mount Ciremai

Mount Ceremai often mistakenly called " Ciremai " is a volcanic cone that is
administratively included in the three districts , namely Cirebon , Kuningan and
Majalengka, West Java Province. The geographical position of the peak is located at 6 ° 53 '
30 "latitude and 108 ° 24 ' 00 " East, with an altitude of 3,078 m above sea level. This
mountain is the highest mountain in West Java.

This mountain has a double crater. Western crater radius 400 m east of the crater that was
interrupted by a radius of 600 m. At an altitude of about 2,900 m above sea level on the
southern slopes of the eruption are former Gowa called Swallow.

Ciemai now belongs to the National Park area of Mount Ciremai (TNGC), which has a total
area of approximately 15,000 hectares.
The name is derived from the word mountain ciremai ( Phyllanthus acidus, a kind of small
fruiting shrubs is rather sour ), but is often called Ciremai , a hiperkorek symptoms due to
the many place names in the region Pasundan use the prefix 'ci -' for naming the place.

Kelompok A
Borobudur Temple

Borobudur is a Buddhist temple. It was built in the ninth century under


Sailendra dynasty of ancient Mataram kingdom. Borobudur is located in
Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia.

Borobudur is well-known all over the world. Its construction is influenced by


the Gupta architecture of India. The temple is constructed on a hill 46 meter high
and consists of eight steps like stone terrace. The first five terraces are square and
surrounded by walls adorned with Buddhist sculpture in bas-relief. The upper
three are circular. Each of them is with a circle of bell shape-stupa. The entire
upper structure is crowned by a large stupa at the center of the top circle. The way
to the summit extends through some 4.8 km of passage and stairways.

Prambanan Temple

Prambanan Temple or also known as Lara Jonggrang Temple is the largest


Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. It is precisely located in about 17 km
northeast of Yogyakarta city, Central Java. It was built in 9th century during the
reign of Sanjaya dynasty and dedicated to the three main Hindu Gods or Trimurti;
Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Its greatness and magnificence attracts many visitors
from around the globe every year.

Prambanan Temple was built on a four-square plane. Each plane is separated


by four walls with four large gates on the middle as the entrance. The whole
temple complex is divided into three major zones; the outer, middle, and inner
zone. The outer zone is an open space and the bottommost terrace of the temple.
The second area is the middle zone where hundreds of small temples were
standing. The last area is the inner zone. It is the holiest and highest terrace of the
temple. There are three major temples of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma that are
standing on the inner zone, together with three small temple of their animal
vehicle.

Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan, is one of the small island, a clusters of three Gilis; Gili
Trawangan, Gili Meno, Gili Air, as it is abbreviated by GILI TRAMENA. Gili
Tramena which is located in the west of Lombok Island, is a destination mostly
visited by Foreigner whenever they visit to West Nusa Tenggara.
The 7 square kilometer island with less than 1,000 inhabitants offers stunning
coastal beauty, charming white sand and stunning blue sea views, fresh air, as well
as other potentials. This small island is complete for its entertainment event
especially those underwater and beach lovers. Tourists will be offered the beauty
by the activity of diving, snorkeling, as well as visiting some beautiful beach
spots. In addition to that visitors can also do surfing for Trawangan coastal waves.
It also a place for the turtle to live and breed. As it is full of sea and beach
comforts, Trawangan is also a place to practice horseback riding with professional
guides to ensure the safety and comfort.The distance from downtown Mataram to
gili trawangan is not too far. Bangsal port can be reached more or less 50 minutes
(standard) coming from Mataram. Reaching Bangsal port to Trawangan Island is
carried in public boat about 20 minutes.

Kuta Beach

Kuta is a very beautiful beach. Kuta beach located in Badung regency. It’s
close to the Ngurah Rai airport and is about 9 km from Denpasar. Kuta is a beach
that is very popular both in Indonesia and international. In Kuta beach, there are a
variety of facilities including accommodation, restaurant, bar, as well as a very
famous surfing spots in the world.
In Kuta beach, you will see a lot of tourists with a variety of activities in which
they live. The usual tourist will take the time for sunbathing, kite flying, playing
volleyball, walking around, and playing beach soccer. This is a beach that is very
crowded every day. The activity in Kuta beach is not only takes place during the
day, but also in the night. Various types of pubs and restaurants provide night
hours for visitors so they can enjoy a meal and entertainment throughout the
night. The night life at Kuta beach starts at 23:00.
When you visit Kuta beach, then you do not have to worry with the existing
system of accommodation. In the vicinity of Kuta beach, there are many types of
hotels and resorts that provide you with an accommodation budget ranging from
the lowest to the highest. Kuta Beach is a beach that is highly recommended for
you. In addition to offering the natural beauty, the environment around it also
gives a classy facility.
