3.0 Surface of finished plastered surface was found free from cracks, stains, brush marks, Impression of Level pad or any other
surface defects
4.0 Any visible Undulations, waviness during day, Night light; When measured is it within the tolerance limit? (+ - 0.2mm)
Following Test should be conducted accordingly :
5.0 1. Visual Inspection:
5.1
Start by visually inspecting the entire plastered surface. Look for any cracks, bulges, or other defects on the surface.
5.2 Check for a consistent thickness of plaster across the entire surface. Variations in thickness can affect the appearance and
durability of the plaster.
6.0 2. Tap Test:
6.1 Use a small hammer or a solid object to gently tap the plastered surface. A hollow sound could indicate that the plaster has
debonded from the wall, while a solid sound indicates a good bond.
7.0 3. Scratch Test:
7.1 Perform a scratch test by making a shallow scratch on the plastered surface with a screwdriver or similar tool. The plaster
should be hard enough to resist the scratch. If the scratch easily penetrates the plaster, it may indicate that the plaster mix was
incorrect or that it has not cured properly.
8.0 4. Moisture Test:
8.1 Check for any signs of dampness or moisture on the plastered surface. Excessive moisture can lead to mold growth and
damage the plaster over time.
9.0 5. Squareness and Level:
9.1 Use a spirit level to check the vertical and horizontal alignment of the plastered surface. The surface should be flat, square,
and level as per the required specifications.
10.0 6. Finish Quality:
10.1
Evaluate the finish quality of the plaster. Check for smoothness, evenness, and any imperfections in the surface finish.
11.0 7. Bonding:
11.1 Check the bonding of the plaster to the substrate. The plaster should have a good bond with the underlying surface without
any signs of delamination.
12.0 8. Curing:
12.1 Ensure that the plaster has been allowed to cure properly according to the recommended curing time. Premature drying can
lead to cracking and other defects in the plaster.
13.0 9. Documentation:
13.1 Document any defects or issues found during the inspection. This documentation can be used for future reference or for
communicating with the contractor or relevant parties.
