.Why Each Person Should Opt for Content Only from Legal Sources

The 2008 recession promoted a significant economic crisis, resulting in tighter household
budgets that affected entertainment spending. While many desired to enjoy movies, music or
books, limited budget prevented them from affording content online. Consequently, people
gradually tend to access content online through illegal sources and unauthorized content for
the sake of reducing the budget on entertainment, leading to develop digital piracy as a
remarkable issue for the distribution of illegal content on the internet. While some people
argue that unauthorized websites provide access to those who can't afford it due to their
limited budget, others argue that it's not fair for the hard work of content creators as is it their
dependent income source. Ultimately, each person should opt for content only from legal
sources for two different reasons: to prevent significant financial losses for content creators
.and to limit the spread of malicious software

One significant reason why each person should opt for content only from legal
sources is to prevent financial losses for content creators. Content companies are
responsible for creating different content online or even individual content creators,
whose work is often intended to be paid for. However, some people don't take that
seriously and start streaming the content for free. With more people streaming content
for free, it might increase the usage of illegal sources online, promoting significant
economic loss as people access content without payment. Approximately 20 percent
of streaming accounts are innocent in terms of digital piracy, while the remaining
majority are accounted for two-fifth of global illegal download-based methods such as
BitTorrent (Rossi, 2022). This evidence shows that an increase of streaming accounts
online may potentially contribute to significant financial losses for producers.
.Therefore, each one should acquire sources legally, even if payment is required

Another essential reason why each person should opt for content only from legal
source is to decrease the spread of malicious software. People who are significantly
experts in technology and cybersecurity measures may use their skills to develop
malware viruses in illegal methods online. Therefore, others who are unaware of this
danger might be threatened, leading to freeze their accounts, and in worst cases, they
might become targets for theft. With the increase in the number of hackers, there is
potential for online users to fall into their traps, developing significant risks to the
users themselves. Exactly one-quarter of breached files contain malicious software
programs present hazardous threat to users, including all aspects piracy (Putman,
2023). This evidence shows that an increase in the number of malicious software
programs could contribute in several potential risks to the users. Therefore, each one
.should access only secured and legal online pages to prevent such risks

In conclusion, to protect content creators' profits from significant declines and to

minimize the spread of malicious software programs, it is essential that individuals
access content only from legal sources. One major implication is that the anti-piracy
service companies could offer advanced cybersecurity training to instruct as many
people as possible for building up a strong online security line against piracy and
illegal sources. Additionally, these companies could strengthen phishing piracy
technologies to minimize unauthorized contents for the sake of protecting content
creators' rights. It is recommended that operating system companies collaborate with
anti-piracy service companies to strengthen the software of devices, ensuring well
protected devices away from malicious software programs. By adopting these
strategies, it's reasonable that there will be a decline in the number of people who tend
to access illegal content online leading to protected environment for both content
.creators and users
