Title: The Sick Day
Title: The Sick Day
"Jack's Ailment" is a comic that follows the misfortunes of Jack, a young man
experiencing a series of symptoms while dealing with an illness. From
headaches to fever, each page unveils a new challenge for Jack, while the
narrator reflects on the decisions that led to his current state.
Jack, pale and looking unwell, holds his head with a pained expression. He's
lying on his bed, surrounded by empty ice cream containers. Jack: (thinking)
"My head hurts..." Narrator: Jack shouldn't have eaten all that ice cream last
night, but it was just so tempting! His mom warned him about the
consequences.
Jack doubles over, clutching his stomach. The clock on the wall shows it's
already mid-morning. Jack: (thinking) "My stomach hurts..." Narrator: He
shouldn't have skipped breakfast either, but he was running late for school
and thought he could manage without it. Oh, how wrong he was!
Wrapped in a scarf and with a thermometer in his mouth, Jack shivers under
a thin blanket. Jack: (thinking) "My throat hurts..." Narrator: Maybe he should
have worn a jacket yesterday. It was chilly outside, but he insisted that he'd
be fine without it. Now he's paying the price.
A nurse checks Jack's temperature, while a concerned look is on her face.
Jack looks miserable, surrounded by tissues and medicine. Nurse: Looks like
you have a fever, Jack. You might have the flu. Jack: (thinking) "Flu..."
Narrator: Jack should have listened to his mom and stayed home today. She
advised him to rest, but he didn't want to miss out on anything.
Jack lies in bed, a pained expression on his face. He's surrounded by books
and assignments. Jack: (thinking) "My back hurts..." Narrator: But at least
now he has an excuse to skip homework. Though, he'd rather be healthy and
active than stuck in bed feeling miserable.
