1. What does Computer Engineers do?
Computer engineers build devices, design computer networks and develop new
technologies. They develop, test, and design, computer processors, circuit boards, and
network systems. They are focused on computer hardware and understanding how to
optimize hardware for different applications through an understanding of how software
interacts with hardware. They resolve problems or address any concerns that occur with
the hardware or software and aid in the advancement of computer technology.
2. Where do Computer Engineers Work and in what roles?
Computer engineers can find employment in different industries and can work in many different
capacities. Here are some examples of places where computer engineers can find work:
Software or hardware corporations
Aeronautical firms
Defense contractors
The federal government
Gaming and entertainment companies
Financial industry
Healthcare industry
Educational institutions
Research institutions
3. What are the typical job duties and responsibilities of a Computer Engineer?
Researching software and computer hardware
Designing and testing computer hardware components, such as
processors, circuit boards, memory devices and routers
Writing and testing software for mobile devices and computers
Designing, setting up and testing networks
Managing operating systems
Designing and testing robots
Creating programming to support a range of products, from aircraft
components to surgical technology
4. Who are the 5 greatest computer engineers of all time?
1. Barbara Liskov 2. Elon Musk 3. Larry Page
4. Carl Sassenrath 5. Bill Gates
Oral
1. What will I do once I become a computer engineer?
Well, first I’ll be looking for small establishments that needs Computer engineers to hone
my craft then after gaining enough experience, credibility and training I will start looking
for bigger establishments to further establish my name and then hopefully someday start
my own company.
2. What is my expectations once I graduate?
Well, I expect to have learned all necessary skills, etiquette and ethics as a computer
engineer.
3. What skills would I have learned at the end of the course?
The skills I’ve learned in this course is to make and test microchips, circuits, processors,
conductors and any other component used in computer devices or system. Also, to design
and test new hardware and software combinations for computers.
