                            FORM 1: International Students Registration Requirements
Nkumba University promotes academic interaction amongst students of all study levels and from a
wide range of social-cultural and educational backgrounds. The office of the Academic Registrar
therefore requires information about international students to enable this interaction to prevail. You
are required to email a scanned copy of the under-listed to the admissions office. Under item 1 and 4,
provide what applies to you.
1. Admission / Acceptance Letter
   a. Of Nkumba University if admitted to a full study program
   b. Of your former University and Nkumba University if you are a transfer student
   c. Of your University if your academic stay is temporary but contributing to a final academic
      award; such as for student exchange programs
2. Three (3) passport photographs
      (taken in the last two months)
3. Identity Card
      A valid Identity card or registration document from your former or current study institution
4. Record of results
         a. Original copy of National examination results previously taken in your home country;
             for students admitted to a full academic program at Nkumba University.
         b. Partial academic transcript or a copy of certified results; for students on Academic
             transfer and study exchange program.
5. A certificate of good conduct.
      Obtained preferably from your National police.

SECTION A: RESIDENCE
The University has two forms of accommodation for its students namely; Resident and Non-resident. Residency
is managed fully by the University while non-residency has aspects, either private hostels, apartments, or
partnership housing between the hostel owners and the University management. Undergraduate students,
considering their level of maturity are encouraged to be residents especially in their first year at the University
as they adapt to the locality. You need to know the following.
    1. International students are advised to be guided by NU International office on appropriate
       accommodation. Avoid booking semester accommodation using online facilities.
    2. Bed and sanitation facilities are offered by apartments. Students can carry along beddings. Note that
       Entebbe area is relatively warm without extremes of either cold or hot weather being experienced
       throughout the year. There are seasonal rains and occasional rains in “dry” months.
    3. Meals. Students take responsibility for their meals and the following are the options
    a. Subscribing to the University restaurant to have 3 standard meals a day for the entire semester
    b. Buffet at the University Cafeteria at commercial price rates (See table 1)
    c. Dining in any of the restaurants around the University or near their residences (See table 1)

    4. Non-Residency guidelines. Hostels and apartments have their own guidelines by which you abide
        regarding occupancy, to take care of security of persons and property as well as social harmony.
    SECTION B: CO-CURRICULA ACTIVITIES
    The University has several activities other than study which take place during the semester. Some are
    organized by the University management while others are coordinated by the University students’ guild.
    You may get involved in the activities on and off campus; at leisure, in volition or competition (even as a
    trainer). Such activities may include;
Games and recreation; Football, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby, Beach soccer, Handball, Wood-ball
Entertainment; Church choir music, Cultural music, Dance, Drama and related performances, Fashion gala
Community outreach; Counseling, etc
