Welcome to TAROM Virtual Airline
The job of a TAROM Virtual pilot comes with it's own set of responsibilities
and personal commitments. Being familiar with all our Policies and Regulations as
well as seeking additional training when needed will be required in order to maintain
the relevant licence required for the role.
There is much more to being a pilot than just flying the aircraft.
Tasks can include :
• Ensuring all necessary information is received prior to departure.
• Ensuring the correct fuel is loaded onto the aircraft for the given route.
• Ensuring all systems are working correctly.
• Briefing the crew.
• Understanding and interpreting data.
• Communicating with Air Traffic Control.

FAQs
• Can I save a flight to complete the next day? :
o No. All flights must be completed from start to finish as in the real
world.
• When should I start smartCars?:
o After you receive your clearance to push back from the stand and
before releasing the brakes.
• SmarCars is recording my system time. Is this a problem?:
o No. Pilots can fly any route at any time.
• Do I have to fly the route using the correct aircraft?:
o No.
• How are the minimum number of flights calculated:
o You have one month (31 days) to complete your next flight from the
date of your last flight.
• Do I have to depart at the time stated on the schedule?:
o No. You can depart at any time you choose. The times stated are from
the real-world TAROM schedules. For maximum realism, depart at
the right time, but this is your preference.
• When is the next Event taking place?:
o You can check this in the Event area on the OC

• For online flights, am I to use my ROT ID or the route callsign?:
o The route callsign. If this is already in use, you can add a letter to
the end. For example : if ROT157 is in use, you can log in using
ROT157A.
• Is fuel planning done manually?:
o Yes. You, as the Pilot in Command are responsible for your own
fuel planning.
• If my last flight landed at LRCL, should my next flight depart from
this destination?:
o This is up to you. Many pilots at TAROM Virtual Airline do fly
from their last destination, but you can fly your next flight from
wherever you choose.
• Do we have to have the Realism settings turned on?:
o No.
• Do my offline hours count towards my total TAROM Virtual Airline
hours?:
o Yes
• What i the callsigns used by TAROM Virtual Airline?:
o ROT
