By selecting a Dornbracht product, you have opted in favour for
lasting design and top-class quality. To ensure that your products
give you years of enjoyment, we have put together a number of tips
and tricks on cleaning, care, and maintenance for you. More infor-
mation about finishes, materials and maintenance can be found at
www.dornbracht.com.
Basic cleaning and care information. To preserve the value of your
product, we recommend daily cleaning to prevent stubborn stains.
To clean your product, always use a soft cotton cloth or a special
polishing cloth. Wash the cleaning cloth as often and as thoroughly
as possible, as any deposited particles could damage the finishes.
It is advisable to wash it before the first use, to remove any produc-
tion-related residue. Use different cleaning agents, depending on
the stain, but always apply them to the cloth first and never directly
onto the product. Use a mild, alcohol-based cleaning liquid for daily
cleaning. Should there be a light build-up of scale despite daily
cleaning, remove it with a gentle, citric-acid based cleaner. Never
use abrasive cleaning products or agents (scouring agents, micro-
fibre cloths, pads etc.), as they could damage the surface and re-
duce functionality. Furthermore, there must be no volatile acids
such as hydrochloric acid, formic acid, or acetic acid in the cleaner
you are using. Cleaners containing chlorine bleach (sodium hy-
pochlorite) must not be used either. Always comply with the maxi-
mum exposure time stated by the manufacturer of the cleaning
product. Each time you clean the product, it is important to rinse it
thoroughly in clean water afterwards to remove all the residual
cleaner, and then dry it.

Finishes and materials. The following specific information for gold
finishes is integral to our general information. Our gold finishes are
plated with up to 23.9-carat gold. But in daily use, finishes contain-
ing gold are particularly vulnerable to being worn down or damaged
by harder materials. Typical examples include scratches from rings
and scrub marks from using cleaning cloths that are too hard
(coarse microfibre cloths), or abrasive cleaning materials. PVD fin-
ishes. PVD technology is used to create a smooth, finely-pored
finish, which along with many positive characteristics such as good
scratch and wear resistance, has an additional quality: a suscepti-
bility to fingerprints (fingerprints are clearly visible). To reduce this
susceptibility to fingerprints, we recommend a stainless steel care
oil, which creates a fine film of care oil on the surface. It is important
to apply this oil really sparingly and evenly. The protective film can
be replenished regularly, as required. Important: Avoid contact with
adjacent, sensitive surfaces such as natural stone or natural fin-
ishes when applying the care oil, as it could mark them. AQUAMOON
in a matt white finish. Clean this finish with a damp, soft cloth and
an alcohol-based cleaning product. Acid-based cleaning products
should not be used. Glazed steel (kitchen sinks). Clean the surface
with a gentle cleaner such as natural soap, applied with a soft,
slightly damp cloth. For daily cleaning, we recommend an enamel
cleaner. Should there still be a light build-up of scale, this can be
removed with a citric-acid-based cleaner, for instance. After clean-
ing, it is important to rinse the sink with plenty of clean water, and
then rub it dry. Stainless steel finishes (kitchen sinks). Clean and
dry the surface as soon as possible after use. Warm water is suf-
ficient for slight blemishes. For heavier stains, add a gentle cleaner
without abrasives and polishes to the water. Rinse off the cleaning
product with plenty of clean water and rub dry.
