A RESOLUTION CONCURRING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF BARANGAY TANODS OF
BARANGAY MARIROC, CITY OF TABACO.
WHEREAS, Chapter 2 Section 387 (b) of the Local Government Code of 1991
provides that the Sangguniang Barangay may form community brigades and creates such
other positions of offices as may be deemed necessary to carry out the purpose of the
barangay government in accordance with the needs of public service, subject to the
budgetary limitations and personal services prescribed under Title Five, Book II of this
Code;
WHEREAS, Chapter 4 Section 391 No. 16 provides for the organization of
community brigade, barangay tanod or community service unit as many as maybe
necessary;
WHEREAS, the Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC) issued Resolution
number 7 dated January 21,2024, recommending the names of barangay tanods who
complied with the qualifications listed in the Department of the Interior and Local
Government Memorandum Circular 2003-42 date March 10, 2003 entitle Guidelines on
Professionalizing the Barangay Tanod.
WHEREAS, Mecilla B. Jarabe, Punong Barangay of this Barangay appointed the
following Barangay Tanod on December 1, 2023 and submitted the same appointment to
this august body for review and concurrence;

WHEREAS, after thorough study and deliberations, this Sanggunian found that the
appointee satisfies the minimum qualification requirements as provided for under DILG
MC 2003-42 dated March 10, 2003;
NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Kagawad Christian M. Cantes duly seconded by
Kagawad Romeo B. Besa and all members present; BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY
RESOLVED, to concur to the appointment issued by Punong Barangay for the above
enumerated names as barangay tanod;
RESOLVED FURTHER, to send copies of this Resolution to all the officials and
offices of the government concerned for their information.
