Q No 1: What is labour/roustabout job?
Ans: Labour job is to load and unload all the material which we received on the rig
other jobs are cleaning scraping mud mixing etc.

Q No 2: What is the floor man job?

Ans: Followings are the jobs of floor man:-

1. To assist all the operations on rig floor and on well head.

2. To keep all the handling tools in good working condition and ready for the job.
3. Check clean and maintain all equipments on rig floor.
4. To assist special service companies in any test or running casing tubing and
cementing etc.
5. To check tong dies, slip dies, break line, back line, makeup chain, elevator
etc
6. Cleaning scraping and painting etc.

Ans: Heavy weight drill pipes are heavier than the drill pipes and also little higher tool
joint than normal drill pipe.

Ans: About 2-3/8’’, 2-7/8’’, 3-1/2’’ and 4-1/2’’.

Ans: E,G,S, X-95 etc

Ans:

(5) To support the wall of the hole
(6) To keep the hole full during pulling out.

Q No 22: What is the function of trip tank?

Ans: It is used to check the well for losses or gain during tripping or wire line
operation.

Q No 23: What is the function of the shale shaker?

Ans: Shale shaker separate the cuttings from the mud.

Q No 24: What is the function of the desander?

Ans: Desander separates the sand from the mud.

Q No 25: What is the function of the desilter?

Ans: Desilter separates the very small particles from the mud.

Q No 26: What is the function of the degasser?

Ans: If the gas comes out from the hole with mud, degasser purifies the mud by
separating and wasting the gas from the mud.

Q No 27: What is the function of the agitator?

Ans: Agitator keeps the mud circulating in the manner that chemical should not held
down that’s why it agitates the mud all the times.

Ans: There are three hoppers on the mud tanks for mixing the mud.

Ans: We have two mud pumps on the rig.

Ans: Douplex pumps have two piston it is also called Single acting pump. It has two dc
motor.
Triplex pumps have three piston it is also called double acting pump. It moved
mud per stroke at low rate. It has two dc motor.

Ans: Oil well 760 electrical rig.

Q No 33: Which travelling block you have?

Ans: Oil well 350 ton, 350 block hook.

Ans: Shawel, Basket, Scarping brush, Crow-bar, Hammer, Spanner, Churu pipe,
Washing gun, chain tong etc.

Q No 40: What is drill string?

Ans: String is the combination of following things that are given below:

Bit, Bit sub, Drill collar, Stabilizer, Cross over, heavy weight drill pipe, Drill pipe,
Kelly.

Q No 41: How many crew members you have on the rig in one shift?
Ans: About 13 persons.

Ans: BOP is used to control the pressure of oil, gas and water etc from inside the well
bore.

Q No 45: How many tongs you have on the rig floor?

Ans: There are three tongs on the rig floor that are:

(1) Make up tong (On driller side)

(2) Brake out tong (Off driller side)

(3) Power or spinner tong (Spin in or spin out)

Stabilizer: Stabilize the drill string
Junk Basket: It use to fish out small pieces of Junk.

Ans: Minimum: From ground 20 feet.
Maximum: From ground 40 feet.

Q No 59: Write down the function of stabbing board?

Ans: During running in casing D/M _ Stabber works on it. It is adjustable. Height is 30
to 40 feet.

Ans: Min 100 feet and max 142 feet.
