Before we start our lesson let’s do some simple

We did a lot of different movements, sir. The first
video is all about leg and feet movement while the
second one is more on hand movement
Very good. To be precise, our topic for today is all
about Fundamental skills which is Locomotor and
Non-locomotor skills.
EXPLORE (10 minutes)
Let’s define first what are fundamental skills.

Yes _____? Fundamental skills are essential skills necessary for
everyday life and serve as the foundation for more
Very good. When we say Fundamental skills, it is also complex skills.
known as basic skills like reading and writing, but today.
We were going to tackle one of the fundamental skills
which is the locomotor and non-locomotor skills.
A brief explanation of where the word locomotor comes
from, “Locos” means place, and “motor”, means
movement. Locomotors are movement that takes up
space.
To understand our lesson, I will show you different
pictures and videos of locomotor movements and you will
define what are those movement.

Locomotor Movements Yes sir!

1. Walk: move at a regular pace by lifting and
setting down each foot in turn, never having both
feet off the ground at once.

We are done for the locomotor movement.
We’re going tackle next the non-locomotor
movement.
Can you read the definition of non-locomotor Non-locomotor skill refers to movement executed
movement? without travelling.
Absolutely!
Non-locomotor skills are the movements that
are performed in one place without transferring
the weight to another point.
This time, let us proceed to the different stationary
or non-locomotor skills. Who wants to read
about bending?
1. Bending is to use force to cause your body
parts to become curved.
We can bend our body forward or backward.
Okay, kindly perform bending. (The students execute bending)
2. Swinging is a movement with a quick
The next one is swinging, please read about it sweeping motion.

To apply what we learn in locomotor and non-
locomotor movement, let’s have another activity.
I will divide you into 2 groups, Boys vs. Girls.
I have written the different locomotor and non-
locomotor skills on strips of paper inside a box.
Each member is needed to execute and shout
the name of the movement they picked inside the
box and whether if it is a locomotor and non-
locomotor skills.
They will be given 1 point if they execute and
define it properly.
The group with the most points will be the winner.

Now, here again is the magic card and I will withdraw a
card and whoever chosen will answer the following Yes sir.
