INDIA
The Election Commission of India is an
autonomous constitutional authority
responsible for administering election processes
in India at both the national and state levels.
Established on January 25, 1950, it ensures free
and fair elections to the Parliament, State
Legislatures, the offices of the President, and
Vice President in India.

The ECI is a multi-member body


consisting of the Chief Election Commissioner
(CEC) and two Election Commissioners. The
President of India appoints the CEC and
Election Commissioners.

The ECI plays a crucial role in upholding


the democratic process in India by ensuring
that elections are conducted impartially and
transparently. Its efforts help maintain public
trust in the electoral system and democracy as
a whole.

K. Radhakrishnan, born on May 24, 1964, is an
Indian politician known for his diverse roles in various
governmental capacities. He currently serves as the
Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled
Tribes, and Backward Classes, Devaswoms, and
Parliamentary Affairs of the Government of Kerala.
Radhakrishnan has a rich history of serving his
constituents, including his tenure as the Minister of
SC/ST Affairs and Youth Affairs in the Nayanar ministry
from 1996 to 2001. He was elected from the third E. K.
Chelakkara constituency and served as the MLA of
Chelakkara for two decades, advocating for social justice
and inclusive growth. His early activism in student
politics laid the foundation for his political career.
