ART
1. Are you good at art?
Art is something that takes time to learn and explore. I like things related to art
but I just consider art as a hobby in my free time, so I have to admit I am not an
expert in the field of art.
2. What is your favorite color?
My color preferences change with age. Nearly, I have been really into sapphire
blue. To me, this blue color is inspiring and reminds me of the light stick color
of the band I like.
3. Do you like art?
Yes, I do. Art is an exciting part of life. I find art really interesting as it allows
me to immerse myself into a different world. I have a special passion in modern
art and performance art because they relate to my major
4. Do you often visit museums?
Because I'm quite busy, I don't often go to the museums. Last month, I went to
an art museum with my friends to see an exhibition about paintings. I have been
to that art museum for 2 times and it had art in it somewhere.
5. Is art popular in your country?
Definitely yes. The country where I live has a rich culture and full of art. People
can see a lot of beautiful graffiti on the streets. Contemporary art and cultural art
are preserved and developed very well.
6. Have you ever been to an art gallery?
Yes, I have. I have gone to an art gallery that had some interactive art. The topic
was an exhibition of roses. The original idea was for visitors to take pictures
with a lot of types of roses, but then each visitor could also bring home a flower.
The beauty scene of a variety of roses took my breath away.
7. Do you think children can benefit from going to art galleries?
There is no doubt that art can enhance inventiveness in life. By visiting art
galleries, children will not only broaden their mind and outlook, but also
increase their creativity.
8. How do you think art classes affect children’s development?
In my opinion, a classroom setting with original ideas will spark an interest in
art. By using art as an educational tool, children can cultivate their interests in
life and art.
9. What benefits can you get from painting as a hobby?
Painting makes me feel calm and relax. Since painting became one of my
pastimes, it has heightened my sense of beauty and improved my artistic
standards
10. How often do you visit art galleries?
Not recently, due to COVID restrictions. To be honest, I am not fond of art
galleries. There atmosphere is dull and boring.
11. What kinds of things do you like to draw?
I have to admit I am not a master in drawing. I usually just sketch landscapes
and cartoon characters. I like some graffiti but sometimes it can be seen as a
stigma or an eyesore
12. What forms of visual art are popular in your country?
My country has a rich culture. Art has been developed for a long time with
portraits, sketches, water colors, comics, performance art, and oil paintings,
special is traditional Vietnamese paintings.
COLLECTING
1. Have you ever collected anything?
Definitely yes. My hobby is collecting albums and goods from Kpop groups that
I fancy. I have even collected valuable cards that were specially released during
concert performances
2. What things are popular to collect in your country?
Collected-things vary by gender. For male, expensive things such as antiques,
watches, wine or even cars are accumulated. On the contrary, female tends to
collect perfume, fashion, jewelry and cute decorations
3. How do people get things for their collections?
Thrift stores and crafts fairs are great places to search for collectable items,
especially if you're after a bargain. Conversely, for expensive items, malls and
E-commerce platforms are suitable choices for collectors to satisfy their interests
4. Why do you think, in general, people collect things?
In my opinion, people collect things because they find it to be an exciting and
rewarding pastime. Some people often collect things for personal interest, to
satisfy their spirit and to recapture their childhood. Others enjoy collecting
because of the knowledge, the material value and even collect with the
expectation of reselling these items for a profit
5. Are there any things you keep from childhood?
When I was in high school, I was a big fan of novels so whenever I went on
weekend, I used this opportunity to go to bookstores. I still keep the habit of
collecting books until now. Sometimes I can no longer control my desire, so I
have accumulated a high number of books, some of which have even been out of
print for a long time.
6. Where do you usually keep things you need?
I bought a few transparent boxes to store things I need and place them at my
bedside. That way, I can put it within sight to use them conveniently
7. Would you keep old things for a long time? Why?
I would keep old things such as gifts, CDs, teddy bears… for a long time
because they have great sentimental value to me. I usually keep them in a box
carefully in order to show my fondness for gifts from friends or family
members.
