IDPA Target Scoring Rules


• Shooter Always Gets the Benefit of the Doubt
• Typically Bullets Leave A Grease Ring … But a
Grease Ring Is Not Required To Count
• Hits That Do Not Count:
• Radial Tears
• Full Diameter Hits on Hard Cover

IDPA Target Scoring Rules
• The SO or Scorekeeper will not touch a target
before or during the scoring process.
• If a target is taped before it is scored, the SO will
try to give the correct score if it can be discerned.
• If a target is scored and taped before the shooter
or designee can see the target, the score stands
• Targets where a scoring dispute is ongoing will be
pulled from the stage and held for arbitration by
the Chief Safety Officer or Match Director
