Furthermore, we would also like to explain the function of management in Tealive's in
terms of Planning, Leading, Organizing and Controlling. These functions of management are
very acquired for each organization because management is essential for an organized life and
necessary to run all types of organizations, whether they are business, government, etc.

2.0 FINDINGS

2.1 Functions of Management

The functions of management are the essentials for achieving goals and objectives of
the organization. Each function is interrelated and interdependent. They form a continuous
cycle that helps managers to plan, organize, staff, direct and control their organizations
effectively. And the applications of these principles in harnessing physical, financial, human
and informational resources efficiently and effectively to achieve organizational goals.

8
2.1.1 Planning

Planning management is the first and foremost functions of management that lays the
foundation for other functions, such as organizing, leading and controlling. Furthermore,
planning management is essential for achieving organizational success and excellence. And it
is also requiring the manager to be aware of environmental conditions facing their organization
and forecast future conditions such as what Tealive are doing for their business planning right
now. Tealive has a mission to achieve the best of F&B products as well as we know.

Planning in Tealive Organisation

Planning is one of the managements that Tealive used to achieve its long-term strategic
goals and short-term operational objectives. Planning management is the process of setting
goals and deciding how to achieve them. Planning management involves analysing the current
situation, identifying opportunities and threats, evaluating alternatives and choosing the best
course of action. one of the planning methods used by Tealive is to establish a Global Product
R&D centre to innovate and improve their products and services to customers or more precisely
Tealive fans. This aims to focus on the process of creating new beverage flavours, both foreign
and local, to meet different markets and customer preferences. In addition, it also serves as a
retail technology research development to ensure business operations remain in good condition
in the long term. Tealive has also made strategic collaborations with various brands, such as
Horlicks, Wall's, Nestle, and others, to diversify the offering and creativity for its products and
increase market share to attract customers.

Tealive also collaborates with Grab Food, Food panda and other delivery platforms to
reach more customers and increase convenience to meet customer needs. Planning Tealive in
using a tactical planning approach to grow aggressively at the international level is one of the
systematic steps because this provides many benefits to them in terms of profit. Tealive also
set specific targets and timelines to open new branches in different countries, such as Vietnam,
Australia, China and others.

9
Tealive also adapts its products and services to suit the local culture and taste of each country.
In addition, they also use the SWOT analysis tool to assess the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threats in the market. This is for planning management because it helps
identify internal and external factors that affect their performance and development in the
business world. Tealive uses SWOT analysis to assess competitive advantages, identify areas
for improvement, explore new market opportunities and mitigate potential risks in the future.

2.1.2 Organising

Organizing is a method that starts the execution of strategies by defining roles,

collaborating with others, and efficiently allocating resources to achieve the targets and
objectives or goals. As a result, it refers to a procedure that combines resources with human
labour to create a unified entire that can be used to accomplish established objectives. An
organization is a type of management, and the technique of management refers to this function.
To arrange things is to combine, organize, or set up in a reasoned and systematic way.

The role of management is to rationally divide work into categories of tasks and connect
roles that symbolize groupings of activities for the achievement of desired goals. This role is
referred to as organizing. Tealive provides business opportunities to those who have an interest
in starting their own companies as a place to begin. As everyone is aware, Tealive offers two
different branch options: start smaller with a kiosk or remain large with a consistent shop. This
kind of chance can be useful for business owners seeking to launch a business. The business
owners are then referred to as LOOB Holding partners. The inexperienced new collaborators
will receive guidance from LOOB immediately.

10
2.1.3 Leading

Leading is an increasingly important management function once the plan is formed, the
relationship structure within the organization is established, and capable employees are
recruited. Leading is not only done after the planning and organizing process. It is also
important to the success of these functions.
Leading means creating a shared cultures and values, channelling information about
goals to all members of the organization through the communication process and instilling in
employees the spirit of striving towards a high level of performance.

Leadership in Tealive Organization

What we can relate to leading in a Tealive organization is Bryan loo is a leader who
never give up on developing his company because he always finds a way and learns a little bit
about business to grow his business.
He also tries to influence the behaviour of employees so that they can carry out their
assigned tasks effectively and efficiently to achieve the organization’s goals. Because of this
difference, each individual in the organization is responsible for determining the success of this
organization. In addition, Bryan Loo also has the passion to guide future business talent and he
also takes great care of all his employees to still working with him.
Other than that, Bryan loo also explains how tealive’s leadership keeps track of and
manages a workforce of over 1,000 individuals but his have a plan to hire another 1,500 over
the next 2 years, his believe the importance of maintaining a good company culture. In addition
to thinking about the future of the company, Bryan Loo is also very thorough in finding
employees because “we must build our organization to be agile enough to deal with anyone
and bring them into inclusive training modules,” said Bryan Loo. As a leader Bryan also wants
to empower their staff on what to do to help the company grow faster and progress.

11
2.1.4 Controlling

Controlling is one of the key functions in management when something happens the
way you want it to happen. In this case, it happens the way the company wants it to happen.
Controlling involves a series of activities and processes that ensures the organizational goals
match the plans effectively and efficiently. This means, controlling is the process of monitoring
the performance in various aspects in the organization to achieve intended goals set by the
company.

Controlling method used by the company

Controlling is a crucial function in Tealive’s company that ensures the quality and
efficiency aligns with the company’s business goals. Some ways of how Tealive Implement the
way they control in their company is monitoring their sales firstly. Tealive monitors their daily
and monthly sales for every one of their outlets. Each outlet has a target sale they have to
achieve which is implemented by the company that helps them track the revenue performance.
If a certain outlet shows a low performance, management will visit the outlet and investigate
the root of the problem and take action which includes adjusting the marketing efforts of the
outlet.

Tealive also is very persistent with maintaining their product quality. They have specific
procedures that strictly must be followed to established standards for the taste, appearance, and
preparation of Tealive’s drinks. Every new employee is trained beforehand to keep up to the
standards put by the company to ensure the drinks meet the desired criteria. Their inventory of
ingredients and supplies are also very systematically to prevent wastages and shortages. They
have rules that every supply that is used requires a date with the shelf life of the supply. Through
this method of inventory, they can monitor how much ingredient is used, whether it is used
excessively or normally and expiration dates.

12
This is going to control the inventory levels and reduce costs that are unnecessary.
Tealive also ensures all outlets are complete with health and safety regulations. Inspections and
audits are done regularly to verify the food and beverage preparation areas met the sanitation
standards.
This ensures all the employees’ control and maintain a safe and healthy food
environment that prevents health violations. With all these controlling methods use in the
company Tealive, they get to maintain a consistent product quality, ensure all outlets align with
company standards and objectives. Controlling is crucial for managing and improving the
performance of a company and its staff as it continues to grow and expand.

organization because with these functions it can help solve problems that occur in an

profitable food and beverage (F&B) business. Despite facing legal battles and challenges,
tealive continues to grow and develop to become a favourite brand among Malaysians and so
on. As tealive looks to the future it is clear that the company’s commitment to quality, unique
taste and customer satisfaction will continue to drive its success. In addition, what we can learn
from Bryan Loo is proven to be the power of hard work, perseverance, and a deep commitment
to building a brand that not only delivers high quality products but also fosters a sense of
community and belonging.

Time Constraints

all at once made everyone in the group a bit hard to allocate the time to write, do research and
edit the assignment.

Resource Constraints

One of the main limitations we encountered on the assignment was the resource
constraints, mainly in the limited access to certain databases regarding the company such as
the absence of the organizational structure of the company.
