Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) was established in 1999 under the aegis of Maharaja
Agrasen Technical Education Society (MATES). The Society was founded by a group of well-known
Industrialists, Businessmen, Professionals and Philanthropists with the aim to promote quality education in
the field of Technology and Management. The members of the Society have been closely associated with
various activities related to education, health care and have established a number of educational institutions
including an Engineering Institute, a Management Institute and several Public Schools in Delhi. They have
also set up Maharaja Agrasen University at Atal Shiksha Kunj, Kalujhanda, Distt. Solan, Himachal Pradesh
which has become operational from the Academic Session 2013-14.

Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society (MATES) was established in the year 1998
under the leadership of Dr. Nand Kishore Garg (Founder & Chief Advisor-MATES,
Chancellor-MAU, Three Times MLA-Delhi Vidhan Sabha). He has been a significant source
of inspiration and motivation for achieving the aims and goals of the society. An eminent figure
amongst the masses, Dr. Nand Kishore Garg with his humanitarian attribute has always
contributed selflessly not only in building the MATES but has also been contributing a great
deal in bringing together various driving forces who move the nation for a brighter tomorrow.

ABOUT INSTITUTE
Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) was established on Nov 15, 1999 by
Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society (MATES) promoted by a group of well-known
Industrialists, Businessman, Professionals and Philanthropists with an aim to promote quality
education in the field of Technology and Management. The institute began its first batch of 180
B.Tech. students in 1999 in a rented School campus at Sultanpuri, Delhi and shifted to Rohini
campus of approx. 40.5 acres in 2003. Since then, MAIT has grown from strength to strength
to emerge as one of the top technical institutes among the private Institutes and has been
constantly ranked amongst the top Engineering Institutes.

At present, MAIT offers Bachelor's Degree in 13 disciplines of Engineering with sanction

intake of 1260 students and Bachelor & Master courses of Business Administration (60 and
180 students intake in each). The Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical
Education and affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.
MAIT’s campus comprises of 10 blocks including Admin Block with Wi-Fi connectivity, well
equipped modern laboratories, an intellectually stocked Learning Resource Centre with books
and E-Resources, Boys Hostel, Gym and Auditorium.
To build lasting relations with Industries, MAIT invites industries to join hands in fulfilling the
social responsibility of imparting industry relevant technical education and training. Its alumni
have also distinguished themselves through their achievements in and has been contributing
significantly to industry, academics, research, business, government and social domains.

THE CAMPUS

The state of the art campus having modern engineering education facilities with a provision of commensurate
number of specialized laboratories is located at Maharaja Agrasen Chowk, Sector-22, Rohini, Delhi. The
Institute’s building is fully equipped with learning facilities and has well-furnished lecture halls, tutorial
rooms, laboratories, drawing hall, computer centre, workshops, auditorium, library, faculty rooms, conference
rooms, playground and an open green lawn eco-friendly Campus.

affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. All the programmes have been approved by

The Institute has a boys Hostel which can accommodate 187 students. It has also made Hostel arrangements
to accommodate 100 girl students in the vicinity of the Institute.

• Three 6 students of Mechanical, MAIT received Scholarship of US $25000 in last
three years.
• Dr. Ashish Khanna, Prof. Namita Gupta & Dr. Deepak Gupta received grant of
Rs 47.6 Lacs under India-Russia Joint Research Call 2021 from DST, Delhi.
• MoU between MAIT and Mega group, Tokyo and TH OWL & Ease Germany to
establish a framework for collaboration and cooperation in the areas of Career
Development, Training, Student Internships and Placement Opportunities abroad.
• Consultancy projects of more than 29L in IT, EEE and Mechanical Department.
• Total : 65 Patents 42 patents Published & 23 Granted (Year 2020 onwards)
• 09 MAIT students are serving nation in various capacities in Indian administration.
