A Father's
Blessing
31 Scriptural blessings for Dads to speak over their children
The Power of blessing your child
Dear Agape Dad,
As a father, God has entrusted you with the great privilege and responsibility of raising children who fear the
Lord and obey His commands. Godly fathers are called to love, instruct and discipline. One powerful way to
do this is by speaking a daily blessing over your children. God has given fathers the mandate and authority to
bless their children in His name and in accordance with His will. This pattern of fatherly blessing is seen
throughout Scripture: God the Father blesses His children; the patriarchs, priests, and prophets of the Old
Testament blessed their children and God's people; and the spiritual fathers of the New Testament spoke
blessings over God's church.
Here we have compiled 31 blessings from Scripture that you can speak over your child - one for every day of
the month. In speaking these blessings over your children, you are pointing them to God as the Source of all
blessing; you are giving them a vision for their future in Christ; and you are communicating your love for them
and your desire for them to serve the Lord. We encourage you to set aside a specific time each day to bless
your child. Place your hand on their head or shoulder. Look into their eyes, and speak the blessings of God's
Word over them and into them.
With love,
