as if wearing armor (of an item level equal to the dragon’s

HANDOUT #1: MISSION BRIEFING

START PLAYBACK

First Seeker Ehu Hadif sits behind a black desk with a holographic recorder at its center. He taps the recorder to confirm
it’s recording, then speaks.
“Starfinders, thank you for volunteering. I’ve requested no digital recorders or other computers because we cannot risk
intrusion: we may have found a solution to the Data Scourge.
“Three years ago, the Pact Worlds received a request for protectorate status from the planet Eborth, a distant osharu
colony. The colony was precarious due to a malfunctioning nanite swarm discovered in a pre-Gap installation, and
the petition was denied. Recently, Eborth renewed its request, stating they stopped the nanites. While it hasn’t been
announced outside the Pact Council, they claim their technology is immune to the Data Scourge.
“The request received expedited Pact Council review, and they’re dispatching emissaries from the Stewards and
Xenowardens to assess Eborth and this technology. I’ve leveraged our efforts against the Data Scourge to secure our own
delegation: you.
“Your public objective is to assess Eborth for archaeological sites tied to the pre-Gap facilities and nanite swarms. The
Stewards aim to secure the resistant technology while the Xenowardens assess the populace and ecosystem. Work with
them and establish a positive relationship, but remember: the Starfinders need this technology.”
The First Seeker produces a modified, reinforced scanner and slides it across the table. “Celita developed this to check
for Data Scourge infection. It also contains the most secure data drive we possess. Confirm the infection isn’t present on
Eborth and retrieve any information about the resistant tech you can.”
The First Seeker moves to stop the recording and retrieve the crystal but pauses.
“Good luck, Starfinders.”
